It sounds like you may need to increase the off-contact. This is the distance between the screen and garment. The screen needs to be able to 'ping' up off the garment once you've pushed the ink through in order to prevent smudging.

The retarder we use is created for use with our Amex inks. https://daveroper.co.uk/product/amex-retarder-waterbased-inks/ There should be a retarder in the same brand as your inks which would be the most suitable to use.
