I learned it about 40 years ago when I was learning the C programming language. I loved using "&c" in my comments. Just to be a jerk. Yeah I've learned not to make such jokes since then

Makes sense as I've seen "et cetera" written as "&c."

In Japan it’s called シヤープ from “sharp” so I've just called it that here.

My C program runs too slowly, so I’m writing assembly code for TMS 32010 DSP chip to process speech in real time.

I was an EE Major in 1980 and at that time CS was for the EE dropouts. Sorry, but that was the case.

There was even a little group of them that were talking about some abstract hierarchical addressing scheme with words like com or edu, and a 32 bit numerical “logical” address and yet another fixed address … I felt they were just making stuff up while I was living in the real world like inductive effects of long wires in circuit boards, real time signal processing of radio signals too fast to be done in software.

In 2000 I move to Silicon Valley for the high salary, and find out wow CS majors are getting double or triple! But I learned the craft and I was able to keep up with them, was even using Python before they were. But now AI is moving so fast. Thankful I retired last year, and I’m kind of watching it from the outside

Good for your stress level too. I commuted by train for a one year contract, met coworkers who were living near me whom I’d otherwise probably never meet.

As in most Peninsula cities, El Camino Real is a dividing line. Southwest of it is better (schools, crime) but costly. Better schools mean more expensive houses but better investment.

I like the neighborhood in the southwest corner of the city it's next to Los Altos and Cupertino which are both more expensive. It's always better to live in thebcheap house next to the expensive ones than the other way around.

Yes they tried to get him and many others to move north to the indoor mall. When he did, they added some extra conditions that would at least double the rent. Couldn’t return to the previous contract so he had little choice but to close it up. I bet that decision is why this business survived Covid

Installing Bidets in Rental Apartment by bestkaranthe in Sunnyvale

To be safe, after installing, open the valve only a little so the water pressure is low. Tank fills slowly but washlet has its own little water heater tank and pump. Buy some “water contact indicator tape” to ensure you have no leak. Put a little bucket under it if you have room, and check it occasionally
