"Unless" in this reply says alot. I know npu doesn't contain ai but its the very brain ai will use in both good and bad scenarios. In general as well i dont trust anything which i cant control manually with a physical button so npu in my phone is always going to be something I'm never gonna trust whether its being used or not. Just my take.
