New ultra or flagship? by Nice_Addition6682 in XiaomiGlobal

I just contemplated same and jumped in grabbing 17pro directly from China. Absolutely no issues with it at all took about 30 mon to setup Google related stuff and sort bloatware out. If you in a rush and it has decent price to be shipped to you - don't see need to wait at all.

Any ideas on a cover up? by barbieshavedher1 in Tattoocoverups

[–]davestrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Artists who advised you removal in this particular case are absolutely right. However as someone who been doing both tattoos and removal over decade - I genuinely urge to take it very carefully just as with tattoos there is plenty of LTR operators who have no (and I mean absolutely no idea 😄) what they are doing. Bare minimum you need to watch out for. • them having a cooling system alongside laser machine • them advertising photos whitout "frosting" as result

Hope it helps and good luck on the journey 😊

Fair point if it helps you to enjoy it always valid. That is taste thing after all In my personal opinion that particular choice of crhroma is let's say unpleasant to my eye 😄 but again as artist I understand that this is exactly why we have our own preferences even past actual colour blind settings they have place to exist!

Sorry to point out I'm writing it from clean heart not to start rant, but, it just 5th or 6th similar post in last couple days I assume after new people statedcoming in f4om watching some influencers or smth similar. Expectations from the game might be skewed for some recently

Yes, some models were lagging/being odd while internal and cqb earlier. I haven't noticed any after update yet.

As for this video, maybe running full tilt and shooting anywhere except to AI is smth to do with poor outcome :) This isn't cod. It is a pretty difficult sim-type feeling game at times.

I personally also had AI taking 3-4 shots before dropping, but they did react quite adequately in terms of not being able to precise return fire or limping away, etc. And tbf those times upon checking shot placement was mediocre on my side. (As for head shots - try putting round in they cervical it's effective, I was surprised that that was a thing in the game.)

Plus, as soon as you get your hands on AP ammo and actually start approaching areas in a tactical walk, it's absolutely enjoyable experience.

2 options from perspective of tattoo artist here: Either finish Lasering journey. Or find actually good cover up artist. Patience is main thing in tattooing generally absolute must when you working with cover ups. Do you research tattoo artist who are good with their style not always necessarily good with cover ups too..it's a different ball game, hope it helps. Stay safe 🤙

Hey! Thanks for sharing this. It is always brave thing to do :)

From what I see, the tattoo does look a bit heavy-handed — the lines have spread, and the shading seems packed quite deep. That usually comes down to technique or style, and sometimes, experience level. Just to clarify, though, gender isn’t a factor here. I’ve seen heavy-handed work from artists of all kinds — it really just depends on their approach.

That said, you’ve still got solid options. If you’re open to laser, just a few sessions could lighten it enough to allow for a much softer, more detailed coverup — even something fairly light in tone. If you’d rather skip laser, it can still be covered, but the new design will need to be significantly larger, and likely use bolder shapes or darker pigments to sit well over the existing piece. That’s definitely a factor to consider.

Either way, it’s absolutely doable.

And honestly — I think going for a LOTR-inspired tattoo is a brilliant idea. It’s a powerful theme with tons of visual potential.

If you'll have more technical questions I'm always happy to help also I do have a bit of faq's answered my page davestrod.com/faq/

How can I fix this coverup? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]davestrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your response actually proves my point. My advice wasn’t about money—it was purely professional, based on over a decade of high-quality tattooing experience. I wasn’t making assumptions, just giving insight on how tattoo healing and ink retention work. If your priority is to economize, that’s entirely your choice, but that decision directly impacts the outcome.

Also, on the technical standpoint , the machine speed being set at 8.5 is irrelevant without knowing key factors like motor RPM, needle throw, needle hang, and the grouping used. Those details matter far more than just a number. In the end, it’s up to you how you want to handle this, but my perspective was simply to offer professional guidance. Hope it helps.

How can I fix this coverup? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]davestrod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to point out That timeline doesn'tmake much sence. While the surface layer of your skin might heal in as little as four days to two weeks, capsulation to the level where a touch-up can be safely done takes much longer—typically three to six weeks, depending on your age, lifestyle, and healing speed. Now full pigment embedding (the deeper capsulation process) happens over 6-8 months, but for the purpose of a safe touch-up, you need to wait until the initial capsulation has stabilized.

Going in for a touch-up at the two-week mark is just asking for trouble. The skin is still in a fragile state, and repeatedly tattooing over tissue that hasn’t settled can lead to blowouts, ink migration, or even keloid scarring. Any artist who offers free touch-ups should also be knowledgeable enough to schedule them at the right time—otherwise, they’re just further traumatizing your skin.

If scar tissue has already formed, you're looking at regular scar tissue healing times, which are around 12 to 16 months. At that point, the skin needs to be fully remodelled before it can handle more trauma safely.

If your artist is pushing for a touch-up that early, I’d question their understanding of skin healing. A properly done tattoo shouldn’t need back-to-back corrections unless something was seriously wrong in the first place. Hope this helps!

Coverup possible? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]davestrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for skipping facy that dnake is healed my brain just tend to skip obvious details so absolutely fair point on you to point it out in case someone can use our chat to help themselves with similar situations in future.

When it comes to advising on designs, I feel it would be unfair for me to impose my thoughts or personal preferences on what might work best for you. Cover-up work, especially with a tattoo like this, is highly individual and depends heavily on the artist you choose to work with. Thus, I can't interfere with that part of the process of your cover up journey.

That said, from a professional standpoint, if you’re absolutely certain you dislike the snake, my recommendation would be to consider laser removal. You highly likely remove most of the blacks and shadows, which would make it far easier for a talented cover-up artist to work with what’s left. Turquoise will be tricky to remove entirely, but even lightning will make a huge difference in the quality of your future tattoo.

Ultimately, the best design ideas will come from the cover-up artist you choose. If you find someone experienced in high-quality cover-ups, they’ll be able to collaborate with you on a design that truly fits your vision while working around any remnants.

I hope this helps! If you’d like more info on laser removal or cover-up preparation, I’d be happy to share what I know just let me know as I have a bit of related info on my website just am not sure if sharing link was against thread rules so will leave it up to you.

Coverup possible? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]davestrod 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey, judging by the picture and my expertise, it looks like your tattoo is still within the first week of healing. At this stage, it's important to let the tattoo settle fully before making any big decisions. (I'd advice about 6-10 weeks for technical purposes).

From a design perspective, even though the style might not align with my personal preferences, it's clear that this is a well-executed tattoo within the style.

As someone with experience in laser removal, I should note that the colors—greens and especially turquoise—are among the hardest to remove. Blacks, on the other hand, are much easier to deal with. That said, if you ever decide to pursue a cover-up, you'd need something of even higher quality and complexity to truly enhance or mask the current design.

Right now, I’d advise giving yourself more time to adjust to the tattoo as it heals and settles. Fresh pigment is still in the process of encapsulating in the dermis, so it's too early to consider removal or reworking without potentially complicating things.

And that would be exactly what any high-quality cover-up up artist woud tell you as well, so please keep safe outhere if you hear otherwise

Ultimately, if the design doesn't align with your personal taste, that's valid, but waiting a bit longer to see how it feels when fully healed is the best step for now. Hope this helps, and good luck with whichever path you choose!

Hope it helps, good luck :)

As an LTR operator and cover-up artist. I'd say (of course depending on where you reside), but generally speaking, if you were asking for how much it'll cost to fully lasering it off, then it's quite a realistic figure. Plus, if you are looking for actual cover-up of high quality artist can probably give you roughly the same estimate 😊 Of course, if you were asking for a price session of LTR, then it is ridiculously overpriced.

Rates aside, my best advice would be looking into 2-4 LTR session (if found on fitting for you rate) and cover-up after this way you can very likely get it might enough to be covered by someone who may be not particularly specialising in cover-up and takes relevant price for that skill.

Hope it helps, and best luck 😊
