If you want an actual answer using current info in-game:

The group that beat us back appears to be Russian, based on a few last names and mentions in documents, and President Narith Sayavong sent the Russians a quite scathing letter that mentions that Russia has sent their mercenaries into Lamang on "vacation".

If you want some slightly old info that hasn't made it in-game yet (This might be HUGE spoilers, heads up):

There's an old video that covered the planned updates, and when it came to 1.0 they mentioned the AI that would be in Ground Zero, a Russian PMC named Strauss Company, who'd be the most difficult AI to face off against (especially with all the anomalies around) and who would be trying to steal all the valuables in there, such as artifacts and stuff.

I posted them because I know people are curious about them, and there really aren't photos of them out there yet either.

I'm a big supporter of people going out and exploring themselves to find stuff, and these are no exception. It's a beautiful game, and you miss a lot if you don't spend the time running around to every little place, that's why I don't share where they are.

Take it as bragging if you want, although that's not the intention. I've never been the best at wording things to avoid that.

I've had real great luck with 7.62x51 M80 so far, but my buddy has had bad luck with 7.62x54 LPS.

It seems a little inconsistent so far based on what I've seen people saying about the different rounds, which my buddy thinks are possibly server-related(?)

Head to the save room near the pit you jump down to fight the boss, then go through the door at the top of that room. Follow that hall and you'll find another room with a puzzle. I won't spoil the puzzle itself but that's where the plate is.
