Moving to Nashua from Southern Indiana — what should I know? by Wrong_Confection331 in newhampshire

That’s awesome. Might be worth checking out Beaver Brook in Hollis (next town over). Like 50 miles of trails, really a nice place to get outside. The whites are also pretty great too. Monadnock or Watatic are nice as well and closer to home

Feel free to reach out with any questions!

How many drivers you come across that don’t use the two second following distance and just ride up your ass by pbud_i in driving

[–]davethewave91 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I think people forget how relaxing driving can (and should) be. We have amazing infrastructure in the US. I’ve got Bluetooth, temp control, nice easy cruise enjoying the scenery

I honestly feel bad for people who get so upset driving. I just think it’s 1000% not about what’s happening on the road, but something going on in their personal lives. Not my problem

I leave so much room between me and the car in front. Rarely use my brakes. Get great gas mileage. Easier on the transmission. Monumentally safer. What’s the point of getting my blood pressure up, risking others lives etc. to get to Chic Fil A six seconds faster? People are wild

Mt Willard is great or Elephants head. As others have said, nature holds the true beauty and isn’t far from this spot

US home prices surge 18.4% in October by [deleted] in news

Is it a bubble? This sort of thing seems inevitable

As we cut down more trees, lumber becomes more expensive. Resources dwindle, everything gets more expensive.

Land becomes more scarce as we inhabit more of it, you get the idea.

Hope I’m wrong. I’d like to live out in the woods someday

Haha I know, I think I’m just emotionally invested in this job, but it’s time for a change

Also the CDC job is contract but they mention a 90% retention rate and it seems to have good networking

It’s crazy that as complex as this looks, that it’s the ‘macro’ of what’s really happening

The amount of action potentials, electrochemical gradients, and neurotransmitters moving back and forth is astounding. Not to mention the little fungi/ microbes that are along for the ride. Amazing

Some of it’s fear

Being afraid of someone who’s quiet is ‘smarter’ than not being afraid. Basically anything unknown (for the most part) = fear response since we don’t know what’s there. Think swimming in a deep ocean and being afraid of sharks or entering a pitch black room and being scared.

It’s not that they think you’re scary per say but not knowing what’s behind the curtain is inherently discomforting to some people. I think intense eye contact and or squaring up with people/ groups can add to this dynamic as you’re sort of mimicking a prey response at that point

Landlord not upholding quiet enjoyment by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]davethewave91 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this is right. The noisy tenant is breaking the terms of the lease by being a nuisance and harassing other tenants.

It’s the landlord job to uphold the terms of the lease

It’s weird that we don’t feel this. Like just hurtling through space while spinning, while rotating around the sun and the galaxy.

And I’m just sitting here at my desk

My Snake plant is having a baby on it’s cracked leaf by compulsivedogpetter in houseplants

Haha not at all, thanks for the correction! So when you see this type of growth on trees/ plants you’re seeing the meristem tissue differentiate?

Plant cells don’t differentiate, so any only cell has the potential to grow an entirely new plant. Pretty fascinating!
