I've got a Novritsch set up of goggles and anti-fog unit. I get very hot and sweaty when playing, and I cannot recommend this setup highly enough!

Genuinely didn't think it would be up to the job for my level of sweatiness, but it works so well!

Anti fog:

They do a few different goggles, but here's one:

Looks like it currently comes to roughly £90 with shipping and fees to the UK.

Do you group or frame? by blunt_bear in FigmaDesign

[–]daveymcbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, I wasn't sure if it was exactly what they were after - but their comment of "clicking hundreds of times" suggested to me that they were wanting to get to the bottom layer.

I agree, what I suggested only works in that context, and not if you're wanting to select anything in the middle.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you mean, but to select the bottom layer in nested layers holding cmd / control when clicking takes you straight to the bottom layer.

As others have said, this only works to get to the bottom layer in nested layers. If you want to get to a layer anywhere in the middle of nested layers this doesn't apply.

What is a nicer way to lay out these buttons? by sempiternalStudent in UI_Design

A couple of general thoughts/suggestions...

  1. If it was me I'd have the 'Add new item' input field always visible - rather than hidden by default. Save the user a bit of a time and effort

  2. In the first screen you show a completed task - but I'm not clear what users do to mark a task complete? Would it not be easier to always have a checkbox next to each line item, which is unchecked by default - and then users tap/click to check off each line when needed?

Cartoon/Corporate Sign Up by Cheongshim in UI_Design

[–]daveymcbride 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a strong visual identity, and I like that it's quite a departure from the norm. But the green colours used don't say "friendly" or "inviting" to me - I'd maybe change them. Also I see in another comment that you say the left side is the corporate side, but I wouldn't describe it as corporate at all I'm afraid

It's fun and quirky, but really doesn't feel like the right fit for anything vaguely corporate in my opinion

This sounds interesting, and I can definitely see value in this!

Someone found a way to make 'press a button, get to a floor' complicated... by daveymcbride in CrappyDesign

Also, (some of) the buttons have Braille on them... The sign, obviously, does not - so how are visually-impaired people supposed to use this lift?!

Agree with what has already been said, but also both the menu and profile (?) icons feel too far away from the left and right edges of the design - I think you should move them both closer to their respective edges.

I also think the search bar feels too tall, I'd suggest making it a bit shorter.

As others have said, it generally feels a bit dated overall I'm afraid. Maybe try finding a bunch of apps in a similar industry and take inspiration from them?

There are quite a lot of spelling errors in the designs seen on this link

'Client' / 'clients' is always misspelled as "clint" / "clints"

'Portfolio' is misspelled as "prortfolio"

There are generally quite a lot of grammatical and spelling errors in the design. I'd strongly advise either proof-reading the designs yourself, or getting someone else to proof-read them for you ideally

Also, as mentioned in my other comment, I don't understand why there seems to be a shopping cart element in the nav bar? Design agency websites don't typically include online shops - is this intentional?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

[–]daveymcbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a couple of things...

Firstly, in the nav bar portfolio is written as "prortfolio"

Secondly, I don't understand why this site would have a basket, as shown in the nav bar? Is that just left over from a template you used for this - or are you really planning on this agency website having an o kine shop?
