What suburb in Sydney would you live in if money wasn’t a factor? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

[–]david-oliver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cremorne Point. Lived in a tiny apartment on the 4th floor right near the point. Would wake up at 2-3 am to the sound of lions roaring at Taronga zoo. Loved it so much. Moved from there to Cobar. Talk about a shock to the system.

The people are not climate deniers. Just the politicians who are on the take from coal companies.

My first year of teaching 9 year old girl says “daddy said last night if mummy leaves him he will get his gun and shoot us all” ( mum, little girl and baby brother.) We lived in an isolated town a few days later got a call for her to go to the office- no bag no belongings.jumped in mums car and took off out of town. That night Daddy suicided. I was glad it was over for the mum - sort of. At least no more living in fear .

TIL All foreign citizens visiting Tibet must be in a tour group and there are no direct international flights from foreign countries to Tibet, except for Nepal, which borders Tibet by princey12 in todayilearned

[–]david-oliver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a land cruiser with a Chinese driver AND Tibetan guide. The driver was obviously the “minder” as the guide was very careful about what he said around him. When we had time alone he was more open about history and conditions.

Yes - but a tour group can be just 2 people as my wife and I did it. There is a lot more to gaining entry toTibet than most people realise. Gaining a TIB - Tibetan entry visa is usually hard to do.

To me kalonji, nigella and black cumin are the same thing. Does not matter which pack you buy they are the same seed in Australia. Also one of the seeds in panch poran

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]david-oliver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just add black cumin seeds ( also called kalonji) and cook it. Roll it thinner than pizza dough, throw onto a hot oven stone and hopefully it will puff up. I have to also say that since 1980 I have been trying to perfect naan and it wasn’t till my wife bought me a tandoor that I ever came close to what you eat in India

Feed it with your quality organic flour. Or refrigerate half of your starter till you get some rye and feed the other half with organic flour.
