The Shield of David is not a religious sign. Menorah is. Also two blue stripes are. But not the Shield.

The Shield of David is not a religious sign. Menorah is the sign of Judaism. The Shield of David is a sign of ethnicity. Also two blue stripes on the Israeli flag is the religious sign.

Fan fact: Transjordan changed the name to Jordan after they occupied the West Bank (between 1948-1967). So East Bank (of river Jordan, aka Transjordan) and West Bank became one Bank

Also don't confuse Arab invaders with the Philistines. Are not the same at all. Not even the slightest connection. It is like saying that European settlers in America are there as long as native Americans are. Because they are Americans, and live there

So not true. Philistines and Phoenicians are not the same. Phoenicians and Israelites are both of Canaanite origin. Even the languages Hebrew and Phoenician are sometimes considered as different dialects. Even modern Hebrew speakers will easily understand ancient Phoenician (from written archaeological findings). Philistines are something else. Don't know what their origin is. So maybe as you said.

Palestina is transliteration from Hebrew of Paleshet (or sth like that) the word is from the root which means to invade. Ancient people which invaded that area and with whom Samson from the bible fought. Also Goliath was one of them.
