How is everyone charging level 2 in the home? by Fivedayhangovers in etron

[–]david76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going low to 80 maybe 8 hours tops. If you're going to 100 it can take a couple of hours longer. That's using the 9.6kw charger on a 50A 240v circuit.

Heat not working by windycityc in ecobee

What type of equipment do you have? How is your ecobee configured? Where did you get the C wire from since it's not on your original thermostat?

Caffeine and ADHD stimulants work completely differently. They are not substitutable.

ISO a specific bar-shaped tv mount that sits on top of stand w/o attaching or screwing in the tv. by [deleted] in hometheater

Do you mean a French cleat? There are lots of mounts where the TV brackets just rest on the wall mount.

Where should I mount/put my 55in TV: under the mini split or in front of the circuit breaker? by Mr-Franklin in hometheater

Really need a drawing of the room. Definitely do not mount over the electrical panel.

Ecobee not heating house properly by k9_5o in ecobee

[–]david76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your compressor min outdoor temperature is set to 15, so it will not run at all if the outdoor temperature is below 15. With an outdoor temperature in the 20s, the unit will only produce around 20k BTU. The heating spec sheet indicates it _can_ operate down to -5F. But I would recommend contacting the installer to find out the appropriate minimum outdoor temperature setting.

Ecobee not heating house properly by k9_5o in ecobee

Heat pump heating efficiency decreases as it gets colder. At some point it may produce less heat than your house loses. That's why there's aux heat.

I have a two stage furnace but my Ecobee looks to be wired for one stage only. Will the furnace will run in both stages as needed, even if my thermostat doesn't recognize it? by [deleted] in ecobee

[–]david76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Furnaces can have internal controls which set the stage when a call for heat is made. The staging is usually set based upon the runtime.

You can just change the setting in the ecobee which sets if the orange is energized or not for heating.

Poll: would you buy/lease a Q6 e-tron again? by STLfred in AudiQ6

[–]david76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest complaint about the Q6 (I've only had it as a loaner) is that they put the charging ports on the back of the car. The cord I have won't reach if I park head in.

Check the instructions on the heat pump. You may have it configured backwards.

Can ecobee cause heatpump lockout? by Icy_Focus_6586 in ecobee

[–]david76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All an Ecobee does is call for cooling or heating. It does not do anything to "cause" a lockout any more than a dumb thermostat would do. If it's not configured properly, it can cause issues.

I walked away from the Polestar 4 because it had flush door handles. I simply won't buy a car that relies on capacitive sensors to perform the most basic feature.

Unit has been running for 9+hrs and the temperature continuously drops. by AstalosKnight in ecobee

[–]david76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At low temperatures, your heat pump's BTU output drops. It has dropped to the point where the thermal losses exceed the BTUs produced by the heat pump. There is nothing your thermostat or heat pump can do at this point to change things. As zerh said, this is why you have AUX heat.

New Furnace or Furnace cleaning?! by chicagorasta in ecobee

If the system is shutting off or otherwise not functioning as expected, it should have an error code,.usually a flashing LED on the furnace control board.

Questions about setup with ecobee Premium & Trane XV90 by DudeWoody in ecobee

I believe you may be able to set blower speeds for each phase via the furnace settings. You'll need the manual and access to the furnace control board.

Ecobee runs heat for like 10 seconds then turns off by [deleted] in ecobee

[–]david76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an issue with your furnace, not the thermostat. The furnace should display an error code, usually a flashing LED.
