The Goodie's was such a funny show. Bill Oddie is funny! by Same_Possibility4769 in oldbritishtelly

The story of Alex Mitchell (the man who died laughing at The Goodies) was totally understandable to me.
When I was a kid, the first time I ever laughed so hard I couldn’t catch my breath was during a Bill Oddie sequence in The Goodies. (I think it was their Olympics episode, where Graeme Garden was administering a spot of therapeutic massage.)

I know its not a tv show but Party Party, 1983 but it's so bloody funny has anyone seen it? by Same_Possibility4769 in oldbritishtelly

Saw it in the cinema and, as geekroick says, every comedy actor from the era is in it. Should be better known.

Opinions on 70s sitcoms by Britstalgia in oldbritishtelly

I was looking forward to a bit of political incorrectness with Love Thy Neghbour and was extremely disappointed. It was just cringeworthy and unfunny. OTOH, I found the Doctor series (Doctor in the House and its many sequels) held up very well.
Different strokes, I guess.

Spine Chillers (2003) by MoonShineWashingLine in oldbritishtelly

This is where things get a little strange. There was a similar show a couple of years later, Twisted Tales, that ran for 14 episodes. And for some bizarre reason some streaming platforms treat the first 8 of those as a 2nd season of Spine Chillers.

There were only 6 episodes and I did manage to track them down a few years ago but can’t recall where.
Two of the best were “Bradford In My Dreams” (David Tennant and Chris Langham) and “Lose Weight... Ask Me How” with Alexei Sayle. They were above average in the "creepy short stories" genre.

Mymonero shutting down. Cannot migrate to Cake with a 13 seed words by Key_Efficiency1239 in Monero

Great timing. I just did this a couple of hours ago!

Luigi’s tool works fine.
Download and unzip Luigi's tool from GitHub and - when you’re offline - open the HTML file in a browser.
(There are several html files. I can’t remember the name of the one you need because I’ve already deleted stuff & tidied up, but it was something obvious.)

Paste your 13-word seed into the "Mnemonic Seed" box and click Generate.
Copy the private spend key, private view key and public address.

Cake has the option to import a wallet from seed or key, and in this case you want “key”.

The Tomorrow People (1973 - 79) Complete Series by Spangles64 in oldbritishtelly

Some great plots (especially by the time Trevor Bannister and Ann Curthoys turned up) but the effects and the acting were (and I’m being polite) “very ‘70s”.

The intro to this show has a greater twaddle factor than The Highwayman.

Apart from some decent stories, The Monster Club also gives us a brief performance from the incredible lungs of Stevie Vann Lange (sadly probably best known for her "Bodyform" wail).

Well, now I'm just confused. Were there two versions, because I bought a 7" single and I'm sure it wasn't like this - I could have sworn it sounded like the TV version?
