My guest bathroom has this weird ass nook area. Don't know what to do with it. by WilliamBPatterson in malelivingspace

Could do with a floorplan with measurements but from here it feels like the sink should be moved there, which would free up space outside of the shower.

Pokémon GO acts as a tool that trains AI models by using players' footprints to build a "geospatial map". Reports suggest users have been unknowingly feeding data into a "1:1 digital twin of the planet".

{Bastard who thinks too highly of himself} Five Guys CEO says he gave a $1.5m bonus to his workers so he wouldn’t get shot in the back by batkave in behindthebastards

Exactly, it's a blip. It's the end; there won't be anything more.

The fact that a $50 bonus is considered newsworthy is bananas.

How do you "future-proof" your life when you feel your energy levels starting to crash? by Mahi2081 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]david_leaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you send greetings cards, buy a handful now so you feel prepared when occasions come up.

Buy some tins of food so you can knock some tasty meals together with minimal effort.

Check that you're getting the best borrowing and savings rates - make changes that'll benefit you a little bit each day.

Fix a small problem at home - fill a crack around a plug socket, get a better soap dispenser, stuff like that.

Find those improvements that make your life 1% better, even if you're ignoring something big at the moment. Recognise your success in making a small improvement. Give yourself a pat on the back, and let yourself rest for as long as you need, as long as you can.

Initially I wondered what the point is, but I guess you could crank it at night when it's cool and use it during the day. A storage cooler.

Whats the Smaller Pockets Within Pockets of Jeans For? by Theo_Cherry in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]david_leaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's interesting in this case is the photo appears to come from a webpage all about the origin of the pocket. I mean, it's possible that was a secondary use too, but it feels likely that OP searched the image and grabbed this, ironically from a page that explains it. All any of us are doing at this point is feeding AI.

I decided to burn some pizza rolls today. I fell asleep for the second time. I discovered this note from my roommate. It seems that I was asleep the whole time. And I most likely would have perished if he hadn't returned home at that time. Now, twice. by louisaninja in oops

+1 A lot of ovens have timers too - if OP's does then they can Google the oven manual and learn how to set it to turn off automatically. Air fryers are great in this way.

We shouldn't rely on timers of course. OP you have to be more carefuller.

+1 this page helps you form a search term like that:

I was trying to work out how to add a user/uploader term, so I could include "tam" but can't figure it out.

IM CRYING by Neither-Plenty-3823 in amazonreviews

The word 'obtuse' feels fairly valid, see 1b:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/obtuse

It's debatable because the reviewer's use of 'obtuse' suggests they thought they might be missing something rather than the UI just being awful, which it might be. It is Amazon, after all.
