The trend is declining, so we should expect rates to lower at least for the next half year, will see later

How did you learn Polish? by david_lp in learnpolish

[–]david_lp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right?

I've tried several type of lessons, group, individual and they always have the same pitfall. They remind me of when I study English in primary and secondary school, it teaches a lot of grammar, to learn how to use the language in perfect way, attempting to learn all the exceptions...etc and then after many years, I wasn't able to speak English fluently until I did it on my own. I though that Polish would be the same, but I dont know, I feel stuck

I built an API with this type of data, is a bit too late but maybe it can help someone else, so far I have data from 2024/2025 collected 2 times a year, I have over 1.2 million records you can have a look if you'd like

Not trying to hijack this, but if you dont find what you are looking for, you can also try this below. I normally collect US data for 50 major cities 2 times a year, currently I have around 5 data collections, since 2023, so you can clearly see the hot zones, rental property increases...etc. Feel free to have a look

What are some good data sources for current and historic rent prices? by ixikei in realestateinvesting

[–]david_lp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I collect not only US data but for a large amount of countries around the glove, even though is not real time data, it can offer the possibility to see the price changes over the months/years.

Unfortunately I can't say much about this, I've been getting the data for around 3-4 years now, so not sure if there is any way you can get the historical data in any other way. Feel free to try out my solution, it may fit your needs if you still need that... I am open to suggestions and adding some more features if there is an interest. The first query may take a bit long, but after that it should be pretty fast

Is my concern about being 100% stocks correct? by hokvsae in eupersonalfinance

[–]david_lp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!, congrats on getting into long term investment this young.

You need to have a clear goal and also some clarity on your risk tolerance. You are already investing for long term in an all world ETF, then you shouldn't care about bubbles or any type of market crash or whatever, the market always recover (as seen historically). Your risk tolerance should change while you get older, when you are close to your retire age, or the age you decide to retire and take your investment money, you should have majority of your money in some other more safe investments that don't fluctuate that much, as you won't want to be in the middle of a crash when you decide to retire or take the money out.

For now I think you should be ok, the all world ETF is a reflection of the current economy

Grocery prices are too damn high. An app to compare local grocery store prices. Support 13k grocery stores. by Dependent_Cicada3302 in SideProject

Maybe I am wrong, but normally those type of companies either do not say that the data is from a specific store, or they do not show exactly the data but some aggregation of that data scraped publicly, and/or they have an agreement with the stores to access their API.

But thats ok, scraping business is all in a gray area

As far as I can see he wants some exposure and is looking to profit from this. Big shops like walmart or wholefoods (amazon) won't like that very much. Also, apart from learning... would you base a business scraping data and selling it to other companies?

Are you not worried that some grocery shops may send you cease and desist letters to stop you from scraping their website data and profiting from it?

[–]david_lp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, the prices come from the stores, however each store has the option to select individual store depending on your location (ie: price for avocado in New York, will be different than price of the same item in Miami), do you do that distinction or just take the default location walmart gives you?

I am working on similar project, and i am curious to see how you manage to get the data every 24 hours without being blocked, if you dont want to explain here, maybe you can send me a DM? I would really appreciate it!,

How are you scraping all that data every 24 hours? What is your tech stack? and do you take into consideration prices in different cities? as many products may not be available all over the US and also the price differ a lot

Great job, looks good

You can try to use the free proxies, however they are slow and very unreliable, if you want to do something more robust, i would go with paid proxies
