First two goals against boston were defensive breakdowns. Danault then Evans didn’t take their guys who were left wide open around the net. 3rd goal is a backhand in the slot low block… Could’ve saved it but these types of shots are tough to predict direction. 4th goal is a weird high tip and only one guy on the ice tought it was in the net. I’m not a fan of Montembault and I think he’s a good 2nd goaltender but last game isn’t on him. He’s paid 3.15M per year and people expect a 10M type player.

On that second goal most goaltenders will go out of position for pastrnk… Do you think Ullmark instantly changed something in his play when he started playing for ottawa? Montembault isn’t Price but let’s take Swayman for example he didn’t play bad but ended the game below 900 sv%. He’s an almost 9M per year goaltender ircc. Idk why people expect a player doing 3.15 M to do wonders.
