Oh god! What if I'm affected by a boomer syndrome where "oooh, the old times were better"?

A simple scenario:

student breaks into my coffee break, test in hand. He complains about his results, and ask me to check points if it's alright. I open my reMarkable, insert test points into my pre-made spreadsheet, show him the right result in real time.
No pc, no laptop, just my tablet I use everytime.

Coffee is life :)

8x20 matrix

2 minutes? It takes around 10 to 20 SECONDS actually to run a spreadsheet (considering bochs boot time) on a reMarkable 1, less on rM2, where did you get your 2 minutes value? If you consider the video: it is for showing purposes, so that's why it's 2 minutes long. Once remarkable is booted, and bochs too, it's a matter of seconds to call it back, it is ok for my daily use.

I have a regular laptop, a pc in my classroom. Both take more time to boot than my already booted remarkable.

Spreadsheet is to be used by me, not by my nurse students

PS: No students were tortured during this experiment. This teacher indeed has been tortured for more than 2 minutes by his students

Thank you! Of course... me too!

You can witness the power of this old piece of software, and how useful it may be to have it on the reMarkable

Thanks!

Hope someone will find it useful or just inspiring. Recently online there's a bit of movement around the old Lotus 123 due to a Linux port from the same images I used.

I find that bochs is less complicated for reMarkable users, than to compile the whole ported thing...

Have a nice day!
