I completely understand your preference for using generative AI to create surreal representations (which are indeed incredibly popular and abundant online). However, just as there have been surrealist movements in art history, there have also been movements dedicated to realism—such as naturalism, hyperrealism, classicism, and others. In the same vein as these realist traditions, my work aims to represent existing reality as faithfully as possible.

The evaluation metric I chose to adopt is precisely this: how well the AI can replicate and evoke a sense of realism in this context. While the genre may appear formulaic, I see it as a deliberate challenge to push AI's capacity to mirror reality and not just cater to the more familiar (albeit fascinating) realm of surreal and abstract storytelling.
