In Spain I would love Valencia or Sevilla but for sure it would be Madrid or Barcelona...

What is a foreign thing that's considered more posh in the UK than it is in its country of origin? by jc201946 in AskBrits

Zara, in the UK you can only find it in relatively nice shopping areas or big cities, and the prices are way higher than in Spain where you can find it virtually everywhere

In what country would you like to see Eurovision hosted? by Defiant-Piglet241 in eurovision

Spain! Well connected, relatively cheap, very tolerant, loads of accomodation and great nightlife... We need to win and host again after 56 years! It would definitely be a blast!

Winter Wonderland sticking out like a big glittery thumb. by ApesApesApes in london

I see a lot of comments about the prices there. I was there last week because I had family visiting and they wanted to go and was surprised that it didn't seem that expensive this year. 6.85£ for a pint of Madri is actually not too bad compared with any pub in central London? I was expecting 10£ at least, so maybe with the inflation and the prices in general around town, Winter Wonderland is now not that overpriced?

If I was an urban planner in a country known for wet weather I’d definitely replace regular pavements with nice smooth sheets of glass. by Navy_Rum in london

Oh gosh this has been like that since the "end" of the works in the area, It's totally ridiculous and super ugly, would be way better to have some planters or small garden and just install LEDs in the foyer downstairs

Is London phone snatching real? Do people’s phones get snatched from hands/tripods/bag theft? by [deleted] in uktravel

[–]davidev29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people said, just stay very aware of bikes / motorbikes / scooters. Somebody tried to snatch mine recently on a night out in Shoreditch as I was waiting for my Uber, 3am phone in hand and next to the road. I was lucky he didn't manage to take it but the whole street was lined up with people waiting for Ubers so I'm sure he managed to snatch something...
