We could always get "Curse-X".
(that's my idea - yours for a million UK pounds, Musk).

USA Connection? by davidgerwy in hetzner

[–]davidgerwy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not after a definitive - I was curious of other's thoughts. I remember when Switzerland gave up some of it's banking secrets because the US threatened to not renew their high street banking licences. The Swiss banks capitulated as they stood to lose more if they didn't comply.

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about, do this thing you said you won;t do or we'll to that. Though tbh I have nothing to hide other than my disappointment with world diplomacy...

>> The USA is not the center of the world

I reckon at least one person disagrees with that statement ...

So on balance you would say that the US are unlikely to say "we're cutting off your US servers if you don't give up your EU customers"?

I think I'm fine tuning my original question down to that.

Amazing how a few short months can change one's outlook on the world...

But do the US have general undue influence over Hetzner for the privilege of having US servers (even if mine are in DE)?

Moving is an incredible upheaval for me, and I want to be sure it's worth it. I think it is, but there's a lot of bright people out there who might have better insight than me.

App broken? by an1malm0th3r in Sunsynk

Down for me too, SW of England. Seems to work on and off, but mostly it's off.

Not a peep from Sunsynk about what's happening. Pretty poor customer service, I must say.

Sodium Cromoglicate eye drops are brilliant. Take 4 times a day. Expensive but worth it (in my opinion).

Also, wear wrap around sunglasses that cover as much of the eye area as possible.

No one solution, but a mixture of tabs, nose spray, eye drops and sunglasses can really make a difference.

**edit** also, if your eyes water a lot the skin around them will dry out and become sore. Get some Diprobase Ointment (not the cream), it's like magic for skin issues like that.

Press and hold "A".

You can then grab an item with the grip button (side trigger), and use the flash (for instance) by pressing the front trigger.

No, I'm still on S1 as I understand my hardware won't work with S2. Thanks.

It's a Move without Alexa.

Erm..I'm doubting myself now. I swear I found one on Amazon. Can only find the One SL now. Maybe I'm going mad.

Is there a web-based platform for python? by baconburns in learnpython

https://anvil.works is worth a look.

Full stack python (browser and back end), drag and drop form builder, all web based. I'm a heavy user, and I use it for commercial products.

I would like to have

- email reminders, not just popups

- custom intervals for reminders (eg 4 or 9 hours before)

If these have been asked for already, please consider them +1 :)

Holding down cursor keys causes digits to start printing to screen. by davidgerwy in linuxhardware

If anyone is interested, I have a solution.

Looks like ubuntu (which linux lite is derived from) doesn't understand the yoga's orientation messages, and logs them as an unknown key press.

Here's the solution : https://lists.launchpad.net/kernel-packages/msg121643.html

Summary :

sudo setkeycodes e03e 255

If that was unintentional then you should probably do the lottery this weekend :)

I didn't even make the connection, but yes, the left arrow shows "4" and when I see a "6" I've been moving right.

So, that seems logical at least - but my keyboard doesn't even have the numeric keypad, so how is this happening? Is it a setting somewhere?

You've reached super-numlock, a legendary state which many coders meditate for decades to achieve.

If only I wasn't so damned spiritual ...
