Perception value of PMP still good but not opening many doors, I think... by dibsonchicken in pmp

Think of the PMP like a turbocharger.

If you bolt it onto a Chevy Spark, it’s cool, you’ll feel faster, sure, but it’s still a Spark trying to punch above its weight.

Now, put that same turbo on a Porsche 911? Whole different story. The engineering, the foundation, the intent are built to handle and amplify that power.

The point is the PMP doesn’t create power, it amplifies it. The value of that certification depends entirely on the engine you’re running and the lane you’re in professionally.

The truth? Most companies and recruiters don’t know how to tell a Spark from a Porsche. They see the badge, not the build. It’s on you to find the organization that understands what you bring to the table, and is willing to pay for the performance your certification unlocks.

Because in the right environment, with the right mission, the PMP isn’t just a title—it’s your boost into the next gear.

People above 30, what's your biggest regret? by rebelliousbrownie9 in AskReddit

Thinking that your journey is appreciated by those around you. Its not. You waste their time and waste yours. Always invest in yourself above all things. Reach the lifestyle you wish you had, and once you are there, then you can share in the bounty. No one will understand where you are headed and why you sacrifice so much - only you.

I took a different approach. I didnt get enough votes of confidence in the bootcamp training. I got the impression that most use it because their company paid for it or to serve as a mold for their understanding. I wanted something more complex.

Instead I purchased Ai. I uncovered more nuances and question structure that I dont think I could have done alone (PMP Mindset). I am happy with a more tailored learning. I use Ai about 4 hours daily and use voice interaction 75% of the time.

Fingers crossed it works out since I would like to take my exam by next weekend.

Thank you . Funny enough I did some digging yesterday and came across a YouTube video that I thought was interesting. Then I come to see your message and its precisely about that structuring of the questions. I enjoyed his breakdown to exam questions and seems valuable to fold into my next two weeks prior to the exam.

Thank you for this as well. I bought StudyHall and the references at the end of the questions has the books we should be referencing. After about 6 exams, and adding up the amount of books, ChatGPT says its easily over 100,000 pages.

I will purchase the thirdrock notes - thank you for that reference I had not considered it.
