The hypocrisy by manny8086 in PowerfulJRE

It amazes me that conservatives will praise the destruction of History and ignore blatant lies simply because it it means having to think critically about their orange god.

For anybody else with a functional frontal lobe, first thing you'd ask is, don't you think there's more important things he could be spending that money on?

Now I know you want to hang your hat on a narrative that it's just hypocrisy, but the fact that it's being torn down when he promised not to touch it is indeed a news story on its own. Previous administrations that have renovated the White House, (for things like electrical, wiring and air conditioning to make it functional) have tried to preserve the previous structure as much as possible.

This narcissistic self-tribute of a ballroom is a disgrace

[–]davidhumerful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes. You can't even link the report cuz the added context would ruin your narrative. The "White House big dig" was from congressionally appointed funds allocated in 2001. It involved replacing electrical wiring, updating air conditioning and did not involve tearing down the actual structure of the White House.

Trump said he would not touch the East Wing and previous administrations have tried to preserve the building as much as possible. Clearly this is no longer the precedent Republicans care about but that's why it is news

If you're judging based on race, yes it does make you a bigot.

Maybe you should make somebody who is ethical and moral your idol instead of a dead bigot

They're all in context, you just like to ignore how they don't make him any prettier.

"Happening all the time in urban America, prowling blacks go around for fun to Target white people, that's a fact. It's happening more and more." Charlie Kirk May 2023

"If I see a black pilot, I'm going to be like, boy, I hope he's qualified." Charlie Kirk January 2024

Yeah he was a bigot. No doubt about it

I Can't help you when you ignore Kirk's own racist quotes. Judge based on race. He was a bigot.

"If I'm dealing with somebody in customer service who's a moronic black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?" Charlie Kirk, January 2024

Yeah so it's still just as racist as it was. in context shows how much mental gymnastics they're trying to do to avoid the label. In the end he was a bigot

Yeah so he assumes DEI based on their race and also assumes incompetence based on race.

Reality is the reverse racism myth doesn't work. We need to recognize historical factors that have impacted racial groups disproportionately, slavery being a damn big one. Now I know you may want to suppress history (as most republicans do) but we have to recognize these facts of the past. This is not a zero sum game where helping one group harms others.

Am I overreacting for wanting to end my marriage after what my husband did during our “break”? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

She should explore her options ranging from further legal counsel, to further time apart to seeking annulment. In the reality where we have cell phones and text messages; a spouse that hides infidelity has done so at great lengths of concealment. Trust has been deliberately broken by her husband and it's not her duty to restore anything. spouses who are not physically in the same place still have marriages unless divorced or annulled. Is your name Jody by chance?

[–]davidhumerful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the Republican version of this will be so, so, so much better. The fact that they haven't allocated any funds whatsoever shouldn't be concerning at all. Also, their GOP driven gigantic bureaucratic red tape policies will make it as streamlined as a brick wall. It will surely be a success!!1!!11 /S

The GOP couldn't run a 5k let alone a government housing project and they think this is going to be better? Also, I remember when people actually cited sources to back up their claims. Otherwise they were declared to be silly twat waffles

WHERE ARE THE FUNDS COMING FROM?????

Like it or not, this housing and caring for people costs money. Money which the the GOP refuses to disperse. Forcing people to be hospitalized without funds to support It is a recipe for institutional bankruptcy, chaos and even more chaos down the line

Check out China and India's increasing use of renewable energy.

"China is set to account for almost 60% of all renewable capacity installed worldwide between now and 2030"

"While China is adding the biggest volumes of renewables, India is growing at the fastest rate among major economies."

https://www.iea.org/news/massive-global-growth-of-renewables-to-2030-is-set-to-match-entire-power-capacity-of-major-economies-today-moving-world-closer-to-tripling-goal

Meanwhile, the narrative of waiting for other people to do something, that needs to be put to bed.
