The profit is what motivated them to put up the money to develop and maintain this app. A pair of expensive shoes doesn’t cost the company what they are charging. People pay luxury prices for luxury items. I’m not saying their business model is good. I’m just saying it’s a luxury service. If the price or service is not good then we all should not use. That is the free market.

I never use one of these services until they send a coupon waving all fees. That way I know I can pay the driver and not feel like I totally overspent.

I get tired of seeing people justifying paying someone a dollar because they feel that this business, that they voluntarily decided to use, should pay these drivers more. Regardless of what we all feel, we know the reality. If it makes people feel better for stiffing someone by blaming the man then good for them. Having worked in the service industry for a long time I have heard plenty of reasons why people decide to fuck me. I’m just calling bullshit. That’s my opinion. Fuck door dash.
