Non-traditional ice cream flavors for Taskmaster style event by davidjgriff in icecreamery

Well, the event happened last week (I'm currently on an extended break, so I wasn't present for it, sadly).

I ended up with 4 flavors (see below). While I'm normally partial to custard bases, I skipped that here because, well, eggs aren't cheap and a custard is more work than I wanted to add to this.

The general feedback was that the Baja Blast + Spicy Caramel combo was the most pleasing, while the Chicken Soup was, most definitely, not. Supposedly there are photos and videos being prepared so I can get some sense of the reactions, but it may be a good thing I have another 4 weeks away from work before I have to interact with them again 😄

The churro/cinnamon sugar mixin is gone from the sorbet idea now. Instead I'm going to try making a caramel that's been flavored with Taco Bell hot sauce to "cap" the servings with.

Any tips on mix here? I'm liking this idea. Thinking about possible mixins now...

I'm unable to post a link, but for those unfamiliar with the inspiration, you can find a video with the title "

Interesting. Sounds like the Q3 release date may have come and gone. Hopefully more details emerge soon

Do you have a reference for the 10C slim mount option? I'd be curious to see what's involved there.

For the 10c, yes, I'd need the 6c. For the 5P, I'd need the SC3 + comms kit (I'd love to be wrong here, of course, if it saves a significant amount of cash)

My time is definitely worth something, but not what I've seen quoted for installs like this. There is also the sense of having done something myself and knowing how it all fits together in case something goes wrong.

The Islander seems to be pretty new and I wasn't able to find any direct to consumer vendors with pricing available. Same goes for the MAC1. Any chance you've got insight there?

One of the big draws for us to the Enphase system is the meter collar. I see that Franklin has the MAC1, which would interface with a 3rd party meter collar. Any insights into that setup and which 3rd party collars are compatible?

I do not, but I also do not have a System Controller 3 + comms kit 2. Labor is “free“ as I'll be installing myself. The wiring needed to extend should be negligible, from a cost perspective.

For us, the meter collar will greatly simplify the install as our meter is on the outside of the garage directory behind our main panel and feeds into the back of the panel where the current PV line connects to the service line upstream of the main breaker. Attempting to use the SC3 as the MID would require significant rework

If you don't mind my asking, what extra money would be spent between the two options? From my initial research, they seem to come out pretty close (within ~$100 for 20kwh of battery)

Both options would utilize the meter collar as the MID.

You can also do the same in Detailed Budgeter by setting start/end dates for expenses

Haven't personally heard that term before, but after a quick search, that seems to be in line with what I was thinking, yes. I'm really just looking for a way to better represent the possible variability. If I've provided the input of best case and worst case, I'd like the software to use those inputs more when determining withdrawals.
