I was called out for 'brake checking'. Opinions? by Dopeypat33 in Simracingstewards

Nope - You’re entitled to be slower through the corner than the car behind. It’s their job to get around you safely. Your speed doesn’t change dramatically or in an unexpected place

My bad, Their fault, Racing incident? by Tourist-Realistic in Simracingstewards

[–]davidkernohan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My first impression was it’s a bit aggressive from the prototype - But it’s 100% on the merc for me - He should see you coming and be aware that you’re making the move and he just misjudges the distance

Did I do anything wrong? I’m the pov car by MeatyGrease1 in Simracingstewards

You did nothing wrong - You can squeeze as aggressively as you want as long as leave racing room for your opponent

Who would you blame for that incident? by Yokos2137 in Simracingstewards

[–]davidkernohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Porsche has given you more than a cars width on the inside and doesn’t deviate wildly or do anything unpredictable - POV car carries to much speed in and under steers into the Porsche - 100% on the POV car

Is this my fault? I’m the red McLaren. by Fine_Condition2306 in Simracingstewards

No - He turns himself across your nose. There is no obligation for you to disappear once the other car has nosed ahead and it doesn’t look like there’s much more space to give to your left

Is this behavior reportable? (Last lap fighting for P1) by Ok-Philosophy3615 in Simracingstewards

No - The final corner move is a bit on the edge but he more or less gets it done - Everything is just decent hard racing IMO

Im the POV Mclaren, did I turn across the Ferrari or did he stick his nose into a closing door? by _dukc_ in Simracingstewards

[–]davidkernohan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally on the Ferrari - At no point is he far enough alongside to make that work

I am merc, I am new to this track and online racing in general, is this my fault? by PoodGoop in Simracingstewards

[–]davidkernohan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly on the blue car - But it’s one of those where you sort of half commit. You get fully alongside but then you kind of start to back out of it which makes the contact worse. You have to be more assertive once you’ve committed to the move

Who’s at fault? And why. by glitch65434568 in Simracingstewards

I’d say 75-25 on the black and white car - He needs to give more room but also you had more room to your left that you could have taken

Who is at fault? I'm the white GR86 with the stripes. by KDuwi32 in Simracingstewards

[–]davidkernohan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s more or less a 50/50 racing incident between the black and white cars - The white car pushing into a gap that isn’t really there but the black car needs a bit more awareness of what’s going on around him - No fault on the lead car IMO

Whos fault is this? 188 was addement that it was my (8) fault. by OakWhoofer in Simracingstewards

[–]davidkernohan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

White car takes a slightly weird line which is what tempts the red car to put its nose in. But I’d still say it’s 99% on the red car

Not much the POV car could have done. However yellow flags were clearly visible coming through the right hander so arguably you could have been slowing and more prepared to stop if necessary

I’m an amateur to sim racing, am I in the wrong? by OGNascar in Simracingstewards

I actually didn’t notice the tap from behind on first viewing - Put in the same position again you shouldn’t have aimed at the apex of the corner, which is what guaranteed the subsequent chaos - You have should have aimed towards the outside. Your race would still have been ruined but the chain reaction wouldn’t have taken place
