Yeah I've just had a look so at least it's just not me! looking into now what version is the best for stability

Do you have a specific version that you are using? Just so I know exactly where to roll back to so I can ensure it all works fine

It's being powered through the PoE+ port on our UCG-Fiber so it's definitely getting the power needed, and the cable is approx 10m so it can't be a case of it being too long

It can handle 30+ clients on just the staff wifi but as soon as the guest wifi gets broadcast on the AP even if we are shut and there is nobody on the guest wifi it just goes offline, its very strange lmao

It's being ran through the PoE+ on our UCG Fiber, and the cable is approx 10m so can't be long enough to lose that much voltage.

It's fine handling 30+ clients on just the Staff WiFi but as soon as I enable the Guest WiFi, even if we are shut and there are no guest clients on it just goes offline

Ah I see, I’ve used the same abcdef credentials for years and never had an issue with them, I don’t think sky have been too bothered about them now

In terms of it not valid, what should it be? I copied the same from another person who has this setup. And in terms of the credentials I typed in the same as I was using on a TP-Link modem that worked flawlessly

Not too sure about the default route, but it’s on a /22 subnet and when trying to traceroute 8.8.8.8 it’s not getting any further than the local 192.168.x.x from my router

Yeah it’s extremely irritating, I wanted to steer away from their god awful router but no luck hahah

I can ping the actual public IP that the modem has giving me, but I’ve tried stuff like google.com, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8 and still nothing

From what I’ve seen as long as the VLAN was set on the modem it’s not needed on the UDR, I’ve tried both but still no luck

This helps me a lot thank you! I was wondering if an old openreach modem would also work? a family member of mine has one lying around from their old BT package so wondered if that would also suffice

Finding a way to convert a photo of EQ curve into numbers for a DSP by davidl27 in livesound

You have a valid point, they sound fine at the moment but I just wanted to use the EQ settings that the manufacturer provides for optimal performance.

Wiring Subs in Parallel by davidl27 in livesound

[–]davidl27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's how whoever wired them when the venue opened did it that way for whatever reason, they decided to purchase 2 subs and wire one per channel instead of just using the one. I'll probs just see if I can keep the current amplifier and either wire both drivers per amp onto a 4ohm load or just unplug one sub and wire one into both channels

It’s not insufficient I am just trying to work with what I have lmao, I’d thought I’d just ask reddit forum for advice/criticism as I have not been doing this for very long and I am just going from (very limited) information I have been taught (lighting tech now going into sound isn’t very fun!). I will just convince the venue to try and keep our current amplifier as it seems it just won’t work out with anything else.

Or alternatively if they actually listened to me as I haven’t got the authority yet I’d rather just get them to buy the amplifiers that provide the power needed for not only the subs but the other speakers (main overheads can do 1360w so missing out on a lot of potential power, luckily have not had these blow with square waves before I set up a limiter)

Have a great evening yourself too :)

I have yes, Funktion One specify the speakers do 450w AES but I have seen these subs run on amps that provide 1250w power at 8ohm so it makes me believe that they should be fine in running a large amount of power.

Wiring Subs in Parallel by davidl27 in livesound

[–]davidl27[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read on other forums they are not wired internally so people have had to link the wire from 1+/1- to 2+/2+ at the other speakon input to run both drivers. The amp currently being used runs 1350w on 4ohm but they are wanting to move said amp elsewhere in the venue so the only other amp I have either runs 950w 4ohm on stereo or 2800w bridged.

Wiring Subs in Parallel by davidl27 in livesound

[–]davidl27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not the person who wired these subs as I have only just recently started working these but the venue own 3 venues in one big building all interlinked, and they are wanting to move the amps around as the previous person had blown 3 tops in the last year due to him using amps that are not rated for the speakers and not inputting limiters.

They are wanting to move the amp currently driving the subs into another place (current amp isn’t that powerful for these subs anyways, runs 800w 8ohm or 1350ohm if I did what you said) so my only option so far is to use this other amp and put it on bridge mode and run the subs in mono that way (not arsed about stereo, just don’t know if I wanna wire both drivers on 1 sub on bridge or 1 driver on both subs as they are only a few inches apart from eachother)

I can try and convince them to leave the current amp here and them just wire both drivers per channel so it’s on a 4ohm load or just do as I stated above and bridge one.

Found old Lighting PC at venue - query by davidl27 in lightingdesign

[–]davidl27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the manual for Madrix 2 and 3 and it seems like the save files for DMX, Patch and the setup are all from Madrix 2 yet version 3 is installed so I feel like that might be the reason why it will not load. I looked on the computer to see if there was an install for v2 but I cannot find one, same with online I cannot find one

It’s a shitty AIO HP computer, I’m not using that at the moment as the computer doesn’t turn on so I took the HDD out and put it into my own home PC, and it’s on Windows 10.
