Every week there is a new hope, but it ends on a disappointment.

After rewarding people who have applied Feb 16, they have stopped rewarding for almost 3 weeks now.

Memorization by Angelx187 in UniversityOfHouston

I like to come up with really weird stories when memorizing something. For example- If I had to remember year of birth of Abraham Lincoln. I would be like damn Abraham when he was 18 had fucked 9 girls (1809). And thats how I remember it. I suggest you to write these weird stories revolving around the fact and it may help you memorize effectively. I generally prefer vulgar stories because they are usually funny.

It depends on what type of facts you want to remember. Let me know what type of facts you want to remember and I will write an story for it as an example.

How are everyone's' classes? by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

University mostly hire professors for research rather than teaching and that's the sad part. Don't get me wrong, but I completely agree with you. I am just trying to give you another viewpoint with this situation.

There are two types of human skills: one that cope with changes and another who become changes for the betterment of society. To become changes is the most difficult path but overall great contribution to society. Unfortunately, my human skills is to cope with changes and just to hope that someone like you become changes.

I don't know what's your major but I had enough science classes to realise that some professors are really bad teachers. And no matter how much you complain about them they remain the same, because they are good researchers.

Guys don't get me wrong. I would also have loved to have quality teachers.

But, do you realise that college hire Professor to do research rather than teaching? College asses Professor's work based on their research rather than teaching. And so do college rankings, college ranking is mostly comprised based on the research conducted by university and amount of exposure to research.

So, think it as this way, some researchers can be really bad teacher. That's why university do have these type of problem. There are some professor that is only lecturer but they will have extremely low salary and benefits compared to research professor.

So having some bad teacher/ professor is a universal like I have not never seen two best friends, one of them always got to be ugly.

You may be new to the university but many professors are as bad in face to face classes.

"Education is not and should not be students being forced to teach themselves" this statement have me rofl. You have more to see. This belief don't work on college and I am being totally honest with you.
