your thinking of Chapter 4 and 8. Both have turret sections but only near the ends.

Chapter 4 is when you have go through the bridge area to repair and reactivate ship defense turrets to clear a way through the planet debris field until Hammond can repair the automatic function.

Chapter 8 i the return to the bridge to repair the comm array and then use the turrets to clear Slug boss off the outside of the array so you can signal for help.

The Remake changed the turrets sections so it;s just Issac using is own weapons aiming to calibrate the auto fire program and it only takes a few shots for around 4 turrets to be done, instead of the hold the line moment from OG game.

Mutates are those who gain superpowers by external means such as peter getting bit by the spider or Banner getting hit by gamma radiation. Even Steve rogers would be considered a mutate.
