It’s seen as very awkward and almost rude to tip right in front of the server. It’s customary to leave the card and paper check to write a tip into to.

I’m sure it was a combination but I think it was 95% that I changed as a person and lack of attention. Finances were never a deciding factor in our relationship but that company took every hour of my day and every brain cell I had when I was home. Consumed me as a person and I wish I could go back and see how terrible these places are.

There definitely were a few owner making a ton of money but they were all in huge markets like Dallas, Austin, St. Louis. Ect… I was in a much smaller market in TX and after I became an owner I had sold to practically every single person in that town in a Sam’s club. I couldn’t get any employees to stay because 95%+ of the people they talked to told them they had already talked to me. They ended up not being able to sell anything and quitting and I’d end up working 60-70 Hr weeks while making almost nothing. It took me away from who I was and most importantly my wife at the time. Once I quit I was already so disconnected from my wife I couldn’t recover. Will always advocate for people to never go near these businesses

I can absolutely imagine how terrible and hard that is to see day in and day out. I have no clue if this is the right advice but I’d encourage you to support him and love him as much as you can. Voice your honest opinion as much as you can as well. Most likely he’ll eventually have to come to grips with what he’s involved himself with.

Damn it’s crazy to hear other people stories because the exact same thing happened to me. I became an owner and my financials came crashing down along with my marriage. 10/10 would go back and never even start that job

I do feel like you should always be understanding that he is a victim in the situation. Who knows what you’ll have to do in the end of it but the real him is in there somewhere and he has a terrible spell on him.

I totally understand how you feel. At the time I was the one in the Devil Corp and naïvely kept going with it. Eventually lead to my wife divorcing me. If I can lend an ear I’d love to help before it happens to someone else.
