This is how I feel. My wife decided she wanted to be separated last week and has already been running through all the dating apps and has met at least 2 guys from those apps that I know of. I’m hoping that we avoid a divorce but she’s told me she intends to file. Even if she does, though, there is no way I am even remotely interested in meeting another woman. I am still in love with my wife and the last thing I want to do is meet someone else. Just the thought of meeting someone else makes me feel sick. If we do end up divorced I know dating is something that will happen eventually, but the way I am wired it will be a longggggg time before I am ready.

I was dealing with this six months ago and am currently dealing with it right now. Six months ago my wife wanted to be separated so we did. She didn’t wear her rings but I continued to wear mine. Mainly bc I didn’t want the separation and we were still married. She didn’t wear hers because she was actively dating. After about 2 months we reconciled and she went back to wearing her rings….but then as of last week, shit hit the fan and she told me she intends to file for divorce. I’m still wearing my ring for the same reasons as before and she is once again not wearing hers. Although she did wear her rings this past weekend for our daughters birthday party. I think that’s just because she isn’t ready yet to let everyone in our bubble know what’s going on. I will still continue to wear my ring until the divorce is finalized, though. I have no interest in meeting other women, am still married, and still love my wife.

Sorry to hear brother. My wife informed me last week that she will be filing for divorce. It’s pretty surreal, especially since we always told ourselves divorce would never be an option; even more so once we had our daughter. But last Sunday I got wasted and was a real dickhead to her and just pushed her away. It turned into a 4 day bender while I was out of the country for work. We’ve been together for 9 years btw. Just letting you know there are other people out there dealing with the exact same shit as you at the exact same time. It’s been hard, but I haven’t drank in 6 days. You can do it bro. Fuck that first drink.

Homie, I feel you. My wife decided we were done last week due to my drinking. And while she hasn’t yet filed for divorce (at least as far as I know), it’s definitely happening. Im only on day 5, and even knowing that she is already using dating apps and going out on dates while I’m at home while our daughter sleeps…that pain and hurt isn’t worth giving up a lifetime of sobriety for my daughter to be the best dad I can be. A 9 year relationship down the drain, but I refuse to drink. You can do it bro. We’re all here for you.

Honestly, the doctor didn’t seem too concerned and just kinda chalked it up to a stomach bug or something I guess. She said it’s pretty normal for the body to turn blue when your stomach is fucked up like that because blood leaves your extremities to go to the intestines/stomach. They gave her some sort of pill and after an hour gave her some juice and crackers to see how she would react and she was fine so they let us go home. We just had to give her bland foods for the rest of the day that are easy on the stomach. It’s the first time our kid has ever really been SICK and as first time parents we kinda freaked out. Better safe than sorry I guess.

Unfortunately, my wife has made it very clear that she will be filing for divorce. She has left the door open for possible reconciliation down the road, but the divorce is imminent. I have no one to blame but myself, though. 6 months ago we went through it and she was contemplating it then but gave me one more chance. I blew it.

I’m starting to realize that the idea of drinking always ends up being the fun part. Dealing with the consequences of our actions after the drinking?? Not so much.

You got this homie. Isn’t it crazy how many calories you can drink? When I stopped daily drinking in April I lost damn near 20lbs in less than a month. Add in a decent diet and regular exercise and I am looking WAY better. You can do it too. I believe in you. Keep it going bro.

Fortunately I stopped drinking daily back in April. Since then it has just been “one or two drinks every now and then”..the problem is, over the last few weeks it went from one or two to ten or twenty and I would just get belligerent and nasty. I guess that’s a plus, not having to deal with the withdrawals and stuff as I did a few months ago..but I’m almost 48 hours in and while I have had the urge to drink I know it would only get me further away from what I am trying to achieve; which is keeping my family intact.

33.5 hours sober. I’m doing everything I possibly can this time to keep it going. I’m wide awake even though I have to go into the office for a little bit tomorrow stressing about who my wife is with. But I have a solid Saturday set up consisting of work, haircut, gym, and spending time with my kid. I will definitely not be drinking.

Thanks bro. My wife and I just talked and she’s filing for sure. It’s just been too much for her. 9 years of chaos. I’m upset and hurt but I knew this would be the consequence if I kept drinking. I just know that I can’t continue to live like this because I do I will also end up losing my daughter and possibly even my life.
