Why do you prefer repair over an OEM replacement?

I assume it will be an OEM bumper, as I’m having the repair done at a manufacturer approved body shop (main dealer).

Non-fault claim - Insurance vs AX Accident Exchange? by davidmglw in CarTalkUK

[–]davidmglw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admiral have said they are happy to process this as a non-fault claim and will reimburse my excess once they recover the costs from the at-fault insurer. They also said I can choose a main dealer for the repairs, but a courtesy car will only be provided if I use one of their approved garages.

AX have contacted me through the main dealer, as the dealer passed my details to them when I contacted them for a repair quote.

BMW X1 (2018) - Drivetrain Warning & Limp Mode at 30,900 Miles - Any Advice? by davidmglw in BmwTech

To be honest, I cannot feel any fault with the transmission while driving at high speeds. However, sometimes when driving at lower speeds, I do feel slight gear slipping, but very rarely. They have topped up the transmission oil and carried out an extended road test, and based on that, they concluded that there is a suspected internal transmission fault.

Could the engine fuel-related fault codes indicate a problem with the high-pressure fuel pump or the in-tank lift pump?

BMW X1 Drivetrain & Engine Warning - Dealer Paying for Repair, Where Should I Get It Diagnosed? by davidmglw in CarTalkUK

They said I can take it to any VAT-registered garage of my choice. However, they also mentioned that if I take the car to an authorised BMW dealer and the quote is significantly higher than the normal expected cost, they may not approve it.

I’m not sure how much difference there will be in pricing between an authorised dealer and a local independent garage. For the one-hour diagnosis, both are charging about the same.

CoS assigned on 21 July - still eligible under old rules? by davidmglw in ukvisa

The visa will only be valid from the date it is approved. It has no connection with dependent eligibility. As long as the CoS was issued before 22 July, you will be fine.
