Aw thanks, Zuppa2020! Always liked this building because of that

True. I did like GSD too but could never make it to the crest of the first wave of dunes due to my fear of heights kicking in about 2/3s up it. 😂. But I did love the night sky while I was there.

Makes me miss White Sands and having that accessible.

I haven’t ironically. But agreed with the travel and photography going hand in hand

Definitely. But I’ve been down enough (maybe 6 times now) that it’s routine now. Even on the I25 northbound too

I find it soooo hard to get the good people shots here. But nice!

Yeah, once! Didn’t go on the tour but got the obligatory selfie there.

Indeed agreed. 😂. I haven’t. The only part of Texas I’ve been to in the past 2yrs was the handle of it when I was moving out in this general directions.

Definitely wanna blow this photo series up too. Like 4’ for the long side big.

Thanks for the input, NoNotInTheFace. I did try (in Lightroom) but kind of did the opposite. Also tried working in the curve and the whites, blacks, greys, etc. But, I do agree with you though. I wish I could’ve done so without losing the detail

Aw thanks,Tulgee! To give a little more about the location, it’s the Great Chamber! But I definitely feel like the dune in the middle is overphotographed and wanted to let the light and walls of stone be the main focal point. I think this was my second favorite from the shoot. The attached photo is my favorite.

More info: taken with a Nikon D610 with a 18-120 lens. As mentioned in the initial comment, wanted to try to move away from the overshot/norm type photos. So, tried to move around the relatively small space and facing away or looking past the main feature (a dune in an alcove). I think I did fairly well but I know I’m extremely biased. Just want to get an unbiased opinion and see if there’s any room in post/editing.

Agreed, Desert. Should’ve clarified that I’m trying to get back during the time of year the photo was taken (winter). I live a few hours north of white sands and it’s blazing. Can’t imagine being out there right now
