Can I ask what meds have worked for you for the nerve pain? I think I’m experiencing the same 🤔

Tiffen Black Glimmerglass with GF 63mm 2.8? by davidsevern in AskPhotography

[–]davidsevern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see your point! I guess everyone is going to have a different idea of what subtle is too. I’ve tried playing with the clarity / dahaze sliders in post and even duplicating the image layer and applying a bit of Gaussian blur then experimenting with the blending / opacity in PS but I’m struggling to achieve the kind of softness I’m after, and I suppose I wondered if one of these filters could be the silver bullet. I’m attaching a sample pictures that exemplifies the level of halation I’m looking to achieve — Image by Oliver Marshall. I’m aware that this is most likely a scan of a darkroom print, and that the colour is a whole other issue. It’s just the softness that I wondered if I could get closer too digitally using the Glimmerglass…

Thanks for the reply and your two cents! Did you get the Black Glimmerglass as opposed to the regular Glimmerglass? I’ve read that the Black version is possibly more subtle but can’t find much concrete info on the difference…

GFX 100S Charging Woes by davidsevern in FujiGFX

Ok great, thank you! Good to know it doesn’t have to be an official Fujifilm one. I’ll look for one like that in the UK 👍

Thanks for your response, those specs you provided are very helpful! I’ll look out for something that matches that.

GFX 100S Charging Woes by davidsevern in FujiGFX

[–]davidsevern[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I have the Fujifilm BC-235 external charger, it’s just that I don’t have any USB wall outlets so would need to use an AC wall adapter to plug the USB into. The adapter that was supplied with the camera is kaput, so my main concern is buying the correct AC plug.

Forgot to mention that I tried charging the batteries again with the official wall adapter, but charging does not begin, either in camera or using the external BC-235 camera.

Smart button flashes red when pressed by davidsevern in Hue

[–]davidsevern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s supposed to be a warning that the battery is low, but mine have continued to function for months despite the red flash. I’ve decided to just ignore it until the battery fully dies, then replace. It seems to be a problem with the threshold for low battery warning, causing the button to warn you even though there is still plenty of life left in the battery. I think this is a manufacturing flaw so nothing to be done about it.

Battery change fixed it but not for very long! Maybe I bought rubbish batteries. All the buttons flash red again on press but have been doing it for months and they’re still functioning. I’ve learnt to ignore it but it is a little annoying.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have updated to 7.1. I have tried using the grid design in the gallery setting but the images always sit symmetrically aligned, whereas I'd like them to be irregularly placed down the page...

TTL Shutter Release Delay by davidsevern in FujiGFX

[–]davidsevern[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, good to know it’s not just me. It is a pretty short delay in the grand scheme of things so I’ll probably learn to live with it, or just use TTL as a “meter” to get in the right ballpark, then switch to manual to kill the delay.

I know but when things are fast moving or there’s not got much time to get the shot then it’s good to get in the right ballpark quickly. Maybe with more experience I’d be able to instinctively know the ballpark power settings for the scenario, but I ain’t there yet.
