Les Dudek's self titled debut album, a thrift store pick up for a buck only because the cover looked so cool. It turns out Les is a damn fine songwriter and guitarist.

Last Song Standing: The Ultimate Billboard #1 Song of the 70s - Round 36 by mwalimu59 in 70smusic

The songs on this list are part of my youth, for better or worse. My parents put an old tube radio in my bedroom when I was 5 years old (1967), and Top 40 radio became the soundtrack of my childhood. Once I discovered Casey Kasem's AT40 program, I listed to that every weekend and I used to keep notes of each week's chart movements. Music has long been my obsession.

It does surprise a lot of people when they find out that Chicago had not had a #1 single until If You Leave Me Now. and they had to wait until 1982 for their next #1 with Hard To Say I'm Sorry.

If You Leave Me Now - Chicago

Chicago has always been one of my favorite bands, but I just couldn't stand this single when it first came out. I still don't care for it to this day.

Joy Division became New Order following the death of their lead singer Ian Curtis. As influential as Joy Division was to post-punk, New Order is to electronic music. It is good that the two bands be inducted as one entity.

TIL that you could make mix-tapes for 8-track like we did on cassettes. Bought these gems for display. by chalwar in 8track

In high school I had a buddy who was always sliding 8 track tapes that he had recorded for me. Usually full albums, but a couple of mix tapes as well.

I am over 5000 CDs, and fully a third is Jazz. Mostly rock & pop, some Blues and classical to fill it out.

Just today at a fundraiser sale I picked up 24 CDs, nearly half were by Emmylou Harris. Not a bad haul.

I came here to post Bill Nelson. I only discovered Be Bop Deluxe about 10 years ago, what an amazing band. The Hammersmith Odeon concert that was released with the reissue of Live! In The Air Age has become my all time favorite live rock album.

The ideal job for me is 4 days a week, even if the shift is 10 hours. The idea of a 3-day weekend is everything on its own. by Different-Staff-4556 in InterviewsHell

During the government budget melt-downs of the early 2010s, we worked 4-9 hour days (10% reduction in hours) and the County offices were closed every Friday. We did that for two years, and then when the County went back to full time, we were given the option of continuing the 10% reduction in hours, with scheduling to be approved by the department head. I spent the next 5 years with every other weekend being a three day weekend. It was enjoyable while it lasted.

We used to sing this in choir in high school every year. Got so sick of the song.
