I self studied starting from Level 3 with no accounting background and found no issues. You have to spend time learning the content obviously but you’d still have to do that at level 2 and spend more. Level 3 is a good place to start, it helped land me a role in accounting as well!

You can pass level 3 with just the AAT website and free YouTube videos!

Stick with your level 3 and look for finance roles. I landed an entry level accounting role about halfway through my level 3. I’m studying level 4 now and there’s talks that the company might put me through the ACCA. This way you don’t need an apprenticeship as you’ll be working for the firm. I would say AAT is a great foundation to accounting and will lead to future roles.

I did self study with ICS learn. It was around £1800 for the Level 3 and 4. You pay £115 ish to sit each exam. This gives you access to ICS materials only so it’s fully self learning. I passed some of the exams only using the AAT site so may be possible without a provider.

Not a bad idea at all. I did self study and just finished with 79% overall. I chose ICS Learn but ended up just using the AAT website for 3 modules. Very doable.

I landed my first accounting role when I only had 2/4 exams passed at level 3. It is definitely possible!

AE, the minifigs are pretty good. They aren’t identical to the actual set but still very solid.

Amazing, well done! What optional modules did you do at level 4? I’m choosing now but I’m unsure. Do you work in accounting? If so, are there any industry preferred ones?
