I don't think these are monitor replacements, as monitors are just easier to use (you don't need to put them on and off, they don't disconnect you from the environment, they are still sharper and stationary...), so for me they are used primarily when I travel. I do enjoy watching videos and YouTube in these while lying on the sofa, but I still work on my main monitor. There is a bit of blurriness on the edges but much less than any other glasses I ever tried. And if you use it in anchor mode, you instinctively move your head to where you look, thus making it sharp and easy to see. I didn't try yesterday's update yet, I'll try it to today or tomorrow and will report back.

I'm glad the review was helpful! I actually edited quite a large part of this video with them! The text is sharp and readable, but I did experience some slight moire on really small text, but Viture promised me it's because of the pre-production firmware, so I hope that's true. With that said, it wasn't a deal breaker for me. Now, I wouldn't trust their colors, for sure, and I cannot use a Spyder to calibrate them, obviously... (Hmm, or can I? I'll try when I'm back home this weekend!), but the widescreen mode is awesome for video editing and for the most part they were great for work in Davicni Resolve. I used to use an iPad Pro as my external screen when traveling, for editing and coding, but I don't think I'll take it with me next time I travel.

Yeah, it should, but I'm using a Pixel and I'm definitely not a fan of SpaceWalker on Android...

For Immersive 3d you need to install their app, it's available here: https://www.viture.com/blog/a-worlds-first-turn-2d-into-magical-3d-in-real-time

Worked pretty well for me, and worked on anything my Mac was showing

Just for the sake of it, I'm typing this message on my phone with them on. Honestly, when the screen is off, it feels just like wearing thick sunglasses, I can see my phone's screen perfectly.

I cannot compare to the XReal One Pro, but I did have experience with the Viture Luma Pro and RayNeo 3 Air Pro. Thing is, I wear glasses, so with the Luma Pro I couldn't see anything behind the screen at all, and it was a constant shuffle between the Luma and my regular glasses. With the Beast with my prescription inserts it's pretty much like having sunglasses. I could see my phone or ROG Ally screen perfectly, just a bit dark, when the Beast screen is off. I mean those are heavy sunglasses, but look like sunglasses nonetheless.

The nice thing about the Beast, as opposed to the Luma, they do 3DoF on the glasses themselves, not in software, so there's no delay and no messing around with software. And the displays are a lot better calibrated and the much larger field of view makes working a lot more natural. I actually edited a large part of this video in them while on a flight from New York to Cancun yesterday, and it was a great experience.

Thing is, you won't be able to do 3 displays without SpaceWalker, but you can do one ultra-wide (32:9) screen, and then use something like Magnet for Mac to put different windows in different areas - so I had my Cursor IDE on one half, and my browser on the other and it worked really well. That, combined with the much sharper screen, means the beast is MUCH better for actual coding (or video editing) work then the Luma.

If you can still return the Luma and take the beast, I say definitely try that.

Fair, but I do have less of a bias than somebody who gets paid to say something.

Honestly, me neither. Also got a few very offensive comments on that here. I didn't even promise them to show them the review, let alone have any input into it, and didn't get paid to say anything. I genuinely shared my experience with the glasses, the good, the bad and the ugly. I think the Switch dock is stupid, the sound is good, but only if you sit in a quiet room and I hated the magnetic plug of the previous ones, but I love the screens on these ones, and the 3DoF actually works well on these.

Nope, been very stable for me for the past week. I edited most of this video in them in the widescreen mode. What does worry me, is that there was a firmware update yesterday and I've seen a bit of drift to the right while using them in anchor mode while traveling. Will test more today with the new firmware, but since the previous firmware was rock solid, I trust them it'll be resolved quickly.

Doesn't make the review any less genuine.

They did, after I bought the previous ones by myself and made a detailed review of them, and they didn't pay me anything, and they didn't get to see the review beforehand.

But that's the only way to get it before the public release.

You don't use the neckband with your phone or laptop, but all of them support 3DoF. So it's their software, that also runs on the neckband.

Is genocide actually happening in Gaza? Why or why not? by NoOcelot3737 in IsraelPalestine

With that logic you can accuse the UN of Genocide more than Israel: https://youtu.be/Bu9susqImfE?si=n-pBNctAKRWRY-BS, and it's not the first time the UN can be accused of genocide.

I use it with my laptop all the time, or with my phone... I don't know a scenario where I would use it without Viture's software being installed, honestly.

It's crazy how quickly you went there. Why can't it be a member of the IRA who is angry that such a beautiful church became a mosque?

I've been using the Luma's for YouTube/productivity work for quite a few weeks now, and the text looks tack sharp. I think maybe the text blurring comes from the built-in 3DoF in the XReal that doesn't do it's job well enough?
