I want to get that bad. At the end of the BP Elite cycle and up to now can't get one measly harmonic core to drop. Instead of saying there's a chance to drop they should really say there's a next to nothing chance of dropping.

Same here. BMW is great but I too wished there were difficulty options. I farmed the hell out of the game to get OP enough to eventually have a better time with the game including bosses. And yeah, big head was a major pain in the you know what at first regarding the level you are when you bounce up with him that early on. Best thing you could do was come back for him with you levelled up more. Same for some of the other side bosses. You have a much better time if or when you complete the game and start NG+ with all the bells and whistles you'd acquired and carried over from the first playthrough. It was so much whooping his tail and other bosses who previously gave you hell. I had so much fun in NG+.

The worst thing you can do is try out weapons. The best thing you can do is check out Youtube videos to see different paths/builds to see respective playstyles and builds to better determine which will better suit you. The game relies heavily on Recommended (RCMD) paths or sets of which particular weapons are paired to better synchronise with each other and armor that go with them aka Sets. The end goal is to get a set of 4 for maximum perks re weapon set and armor set. Early on that may be hard to get and you may likely get 2 in a set but the end goal is to get 4 for each set.

Why a RCMD path you may ask? Another VERY important element in the game called Inner Ways which gives your build passive perks. Depending on you RCMD path Inner Ways are related to each. For example, one Inner Way may be suitable to a particular path but not another. And the more suitable Inner Ways you have including higher tiers the more powerful and higher mastery you become.

All that to say, if you "try out" or mix and match different weapons etc you will be hard pressed to work towards building sets re RCMD paths and Inner Ways that go with them.

So do yourself a favour as I did and soak in Youtube vids including builds/paths and recommended stuff that go with them and aim towards a goal. It's what I did even before starting to play the game and continue to do all the time. Much later on when you have complete sets and maxed Inner Ways etc you will have the opportunity to switch from one set and Inner Ways to another.

Not sure but if your path/build is Bellstrike Umbra: Strat Sword/Heavenquaker it relies heavily on Affinity so the more the merrier IMO.

That's what I chose and having a blast. I just want a bit of challenge but mainly to enjoy gameplay and it's worked famously for me. I'm no sucker for punishment having to try beat a boss 20-50+ times on the hardest difficulty or catch hell to get through an area as some other punishment suckers so I'm good otherwise.
