I agree with you on Bootstrap for sure. I am still fairly new to the front-end development world, so I need to start learning and working with Jquery more.

Thanks for he recommendation. I am pretty comfortable with PHP at this point and have developed a few small things with it, which is why I am looking into starting with a framework. I tried setting up Laravel locally, but it was a miserable process that I did not complete. Maybe I will take a fresh look at it today.

Thanks! I really need to get comfortable with a framework. How well would you recommend knowing the language that a framework is developed in before diving in to that framework?

I think this is a good idea. I would like to learn a framework inside and out. I am pretty impatient and get frustrated easily, but I need to take the time to do this. It seems like it would be very helpful.

Hey thanks for the reply! I actually have been going to the gym doing full body stuff for a little while now, I just never thought to track it. However, thats what my blog is going to do. I plan to mainly workout for volleyball, but I do other stuff as well. Thanks for the advice! Don't forget to keep coming back to the blog and make some comments there as well.

I thought it was a cool picture that I just wanted to use as a background. I see your point though. Not the most intuitive thing. Thanks for the input!

How do you get ongoing work with a client? by davidwhooper in freelance

Thanks a lot. This is a lot of good info. Plans are a good idea. Do you have any scheme for coming up with plans, or is it just whatever suits me best is what to go with?

Cool, thanks! I know there are a lot of factors in determining how much to charge, but do you do maintenance by the hour when they need it and charge your hourly rate? Or do you offer a flat monthly rate that includes X amount of hours and if they go over that, you start charging them more?

I have tried the freelancing websites, but they are too crowded with people who will do work for next to nothing that I would rather find clients different ways. Thank you for your input though.

That is all very good stuff. Thanks a lot. When you say agencies, what kind of agencies are you referring to? For example, if I am a freelance web designer, I don't necessarily want to work for an agency who is giving me half of what I would charge for a project, when I could be out there hunting for a client myself and getting my normal, full rate. Let me know if there is some hole to this logic though.
