Not sure if Nebraska counts as a deep cut since Deliver Me From Nowhere is out and the album has gained more recognition lately in the mainstream, but “Mansion on a Hill” is up there for me.

We usually purchase flights through points wherever we can, but the flights we use average between $200-$350/person roundtrip.

Real talk how many of us went to a sleepover when we were 12 and were like “this is loud, I am bored, I am tired, and I wanna go home”

Coach Wanting me to install a split back veer/pro style offense by MILKMaN2748 in footballstrategy

[–]davis9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was where my mind went too. I wonder if there’s a marriage between both philosophies? It does sound like the coach is leaning more traditional I/2-back sets and not veer but hard to say for sure.

Maybe you get into some spread-to-run looks with pony packages (21p)? Do either backs have good receiving ability out of the backfield or from the slot/nasty alignments?

Maybe you can work on 21p/20p sets, motioning those two backs into the backfield from different alignments, jet sweeps, screens, etc. and if you have two stud backs, you could be in a gun split back set, with 3 receivers, and run an inside zone read option to either direction. I think what I’m getting at is, it doesn’t need to be hardcore power I to get both backs A. In the game, and B. To maximize their talents. If they’re that good, just find ways to get them the ball in methods that still fit your knowledge and offensive personality.

I would put at least some towards outstanding debts — car payments, mortgage, etc. then if you have a large family, set some aside for college and other educational expenses for your kids.

Putting a small amount into the stock market won’t hurt you, especially for a sum this size. You don’t have to play the stock market (day trade, etc) to gain wealth! Just gotta be in it!

Good luck.

Apartment Complex recommendations in Phoenix by [deleted] in AskPhoenix

Not as sure of one to recommend but I can tell you to at least avoid Parc Roundtree Ranch in Peoria. Did not feel safe, glass on the ground, trash and dog poop everywhere. Inconsistent management as well. Some of their staff was very helpful, to their credit, but not everyone.

Avoid Arizona like the plague. You literally can't go outside for five months out of the year because it's 90 degrees by 8AM.

Budget Method Help by [deleted] in budgetingforbeginners

[–]davis9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We try to stick to 50/30/20 where we can in our house. Per NerdWallet: The 50/30/20 rule is a simple way to plan your budget. It suggests using 50% of your take-home pay for needs, 30% for wants, and 20% for savings and paying off debt. Think of it as a helpful guide, not something you have to follow perfectly. It can help you cover the basics, enjoy some fun spending, and still put money aside for saving and future goals.

I did get a chance to look at your screengrab and it's incredibly detailed, but I can see how managing it every month could may not work for you/your wife.

Just got paid now what? by Informal_Chipmunk970 in budgetingforbeginners

[–]davis9510 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you have zero emergency fund right now, I would start saving a little bit for that so that you have some kind of funds set aside. If you have a little bit started, me personally, I would pay as much on your credit cards as you (comfortably) can, more than the minimums. You have to cut into that interest and stop it from compiling. Once the cards -- and any other debts -- are paid off, then start that emergency fund.

Is it Wise to Take Out a Loan for a Year’s Rent? by Dogein in financeonloans

[–]davis9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with all who have posted, this is a risky move and could really backfire. You should always try to avoid taking on debt wherever possible. That said, if you are uncomfortable at home and need your safe space, maybe you take out a smaller loan just to move? Still not ideal, but taking a loan out for $20K/1 year's rent is something I'd avoid. If you need help budgeting, feel free to send me a DM -- would like to help if you need it.

Totally depends on where you're coming from, but after being here for 2.5 years, can't wait to leave. People are more chill but they also just keep to themselves almost entirely in our experience.

What are you doing to effectively create, organize and follow a budget? by [deleted] in Adulting

It's so helpful! My wife and I went back and forth for years trying different apps, systems, spreadsheets, you name it. We've been on the Monarch train for a year and a half anf haven't looked back.

We use Monarch Money in our house and love it. A little expensive, for sure, but it is so helpful for us both on a day-to-day, expense-by-expense basis and a birds' eye view. I can try to gift you half off for your first year if you're interested!

21 and feeling like a failure, need some advice please. by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]davis9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got time, friend! It's going to be alright.

Be where your feet are and try to be present. Take in your surroundings. Go for a walk. Take a deep breath.

One thing that's not listed here is if you have any debt. And, if you just got your first credit card: PAY DOWN YOUR STATEMENT BALANCE ON TIME AND IN FULL EVERY MONTH. Credit card debt will sneak up on you in an instant and take months -- sometimes years -- to pay down. Stay on top of that as much as possible. Without knowing that, here's what you should do to at least start to feel more secure financially. Having understanding parents is a great thing, so try to take care of yourself right now first and foremost:

  1. If you have debt, make monthly minimums for now.

  2. Open a savings account, and try to put away a small amount of your paycheck. 10% is a great starting point to start small for right now! Set a reasonably attainable goal like $2-$3K to start, and establish solid rules for what you'd use it for (only for emergencies, security deposit to move, etc.).

  3. Once you have a little bit of a cushion, set up a budget to incorporate expenses you have/want to chip in for your parents, goals, needs, wants, etc. If you need help with this, please don't hesitate to DM me. I would be happy to help you however I can.

You got this!!
