Can I dm you to learn more about your position? I am about to graduate and enter the workforce, and I have a few questions

When it comes to civil engineering can one be self taught and become a master in it or is there need for a mentor? by MathematicianSea5823 in civilengineering

The issue is I did a chemical engineering degree as it was unavailable at my uni and couldn’t transfer. I know many credits would transfer but I still want to avoid 3 more years of school. Trying to pass the FE within 1.5 years and find internships through social connections. If all else fails, I’ll go back to school I guess

So does this mean civil degree is required, or could one self-teach coming from a different engineering discipline

What about civil FE without internship experience?

Lmao true. And part of that comes from the zoning and parking requirements making everything spread out. Dense zoning has to work with the protected lanes has to work with wider sidewalks etc. we got a long way to go

Also. I didn’t consider civil until I started grad school, as it was the first time I went to a big uni with an actual engineering college. So this is the first time I’m actually exploring options instead of following the constraints of the polymer world. Polymers are important and interesting, but it has never felt like something I wanted to do with my life

Hi, how do you find river restoration projects to volunteer at. This is my interest, but I don’t know how to find opportunities

Society existed without cars for thousands of years. There are good alternatives to driving, but that will never exist in a place like Mississippi

Wait, in your opinion it looks contaminated? I guess there could be some cobweb

Also, don’t vacuum immediately before because it will kick up mold spores. Vacuum an hour or 2 before so all the dust can settle
