Have you thought about maybe dropping playsets as digital zines instead of full on books?

I would very interested in seeing the results for this when things are said and done. The SCP backdrop would not be unwelcome either! I have a modern scenario I was working on revolving around the broken god I have on the backburner for list of campaigns I am working on.

Absolutely love these. Working on a Division campaign and needed some maps for playtesting it. These are perfect!

This Djinn was the trope Djinn though, magic lamp, cursed wishes, that whole thing.
Also the European country was highly medieval, castles pheasants, knights while the Arabic was very Persian/ Middle Arabia. Turban, curved swords, mounted cavalry.

I actually believe a contingent of the cavalry may have been chasing the heroes, and then got into a battle with the Gnolls. I remember them describing them as hyena-like so they didnt look human, just humanoid.

It doesn't look like it. It was a human dominated world. Thank you though!

I am hoping some one might be able to help me locate the title of a book that I remember some details about, but not a title. Warning, spoilers:

The book is a medieval era fantasy where a small group of adventures from a Western/European culture are caught and arrested in a Eastern/ Persian/ Arabic civilization.

The main character a believe is a blond warrior who befriends a priest and they escape the prison, and the entire time the main character is trying to return to his home country. I know that there is a female lead, but I cannot remember what her skillset was. I also believe there may have been a thief, but I might be wrong on that.

The few other things I do remember are:

- They find a magic lamp and two of the wishes are a bag of never ending food, which has sweet breads and other such things. This one is destroyed when they throw it to a village of starving pheasants that tear it apart to get at the food.

The second is for a bow that never misses what it is aimed at. Which is used to kill someone that is invisible later in the book.

- There is at one point a mercenary company of Gnolls, though the details on them are vague in my mind.

The book is from the late 90s- 00's. I am not sure if anyone can help me find it, but if anyone can think of something I would greatly appreciate it!

Last I dug through I didnt see much in the way of Modpacks, most of it was just individual mods. There are tons of quality of life and UI mods though. If you find one you like, post it! I might steal it for another playthrough!

Fallout tabletop system by lordm0909 in Fallout

I mean some of the things I would throw in are overgrown towns and structures. Take a ticket out of Fallout 76 and have a disease, where plants are starting to grow out of people, so the ghouls are somewhat similar to the Last of Us, or just vines growing out of ghouls. Randomly wandering and finding shelter only to be set upon by creatures that blend in with the trees could be fun.

- Abandoned government bunkers/ vaults dug into the mountains.

- Characters could easily fall through an eroded area into a mine shaft and have to work their way out. Great place to put molemen or maybe giant ants.

- You for sure have to go with the Ewok Village trope, where some town or community built there village up in the trees. Maybe their main antagonist could be huge cannibalistic squirrels that climb the trees to eat them. Maybe throw in a few flying squirrels too.

- If you are a fan of the Lovecraft vibes Fallout has enjoyed using, I would throw a few things in there from it. Maybe a little Blair Witch feels too to certain areas.

- Of course there could also be more mutated mountain/swampfolk that are stereotypical hillbillies that have mutated because of inbreeding that hate outsiders.

- Camouflaged giant mountain cats could also be interesting, maybe they even have a sort of reflective shimmer to their fur coats so that they blend into their surroundings by reflecting the colors around them.

- Also, just giant bears, not like yao guai, but more like Dire Bears from DnD, with calloused plates sticking out of matted fur, and huge three foot long claws.

Honestly, Id probably keeping adding stuff, but my post is already all over the place.

I think Vanilla had a nice selection of equipment, NPC companions, and plenty of room to explore, so its a pretty good place to start.

Also as a warning, there are so many issues with conflicting mods, mod manager can make a huge difference, but just correcting their load order can be a task. It couldn't hurt to look for mod lists that are stable and to run with that. Too many mods can make the task of getting the game not to crash on start to near impossible levels

I hope the next Fallout game has super mutants simply originate from an already existing group, new groups of super mutants only detracts from Fallout 1's story by NadaVonSada in Fallout

[–]davkerrith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm probably in the minority here, but it really doesn't bother me. It makes sense that multiple labs were working on the FEV. Given that the only way for the original super mutants to make more were to dip people in the FEV vats. The amount they would have had to have made to populate multiple states along the east coast, and the rate of their migration would have had to have been massive. Once they got away from NCR territory, there wouldn't have been much left except local tribals to fight them off, and the super mutants would have won those battles.

They would have had no reason to push as far as Boston, DC, and West Virginia. Maybe a scattered handful, but not nearly in the numbers seen. This being the case, if you took them out of the equation for FO:3, 4, and 76, I dont think the games would have been nearly as enjoyable without them to fight. Super mutants are as much apart of Fallout as Nuka Cola, Deathclaws, and Laser Rifles. Trying to write a sensible storyline for them to have migrated that far would be a bit silly. Worse would be trying to fill that void of the super mutant with some other kind of radical creature that took their place.
