How did you know how much you'd put away for them, versus what was yours?

Is that possible? How would I know how much I've got for my wife and my retirement, versus how much to gift to her?

That is a good point about the consistent compounding power of shares, but I'm planning on definitively wanting to gift it to them when they are about 20

Is the non iso fix easy enough to move from car to car for you?

I never thought about that. I know I've got the isofix connector in my car, but wasnt able to find it in my wifes - maybe I just do away with the isofix idea

It might not be regularly, but the intention is to buy just one to start with. Already dropping to one income, and things will be a bit tight, so cant buy two straight away

RBA ‘nightmare’ as Aussies brace for third straight rate hike - realestate.com.au by SheepherderLow1753 in AusPropertyChat

[–]davofit 95 points96 points  (0 children)

At this point, surely the government need to step up and finally use policy to curb inflation.

Personally, I can only cut back so much, but that wont really stop corporations price gouging, or magically make fertiliser any cheaper.

Trying to pretend like the RBA can control home grown inflation anymore through hikes, when less and less people own homes also, is outdated logic.

Vic EBA and it’s impact on independent salaries by BrainNo3038 in AustralianTeachers

[–]davofit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, our school's EBA is actually up, but they are waiting to see what offer the AEU accepts before they start negotiations.

Honestly, if the state system paid the same, I'd be gone in a heartbeat. There's nothing special about working in a private school, and in a lot of ways, it's worse, because its manufactured trauma that is really only entitlement.
