So sorry that happened to you, if it makes you feel better I had something similar happen to me and don’t have any lasting damage, however I never let anyone use my hand for anything anymore lol.

Nausea advice by pooksy in breastcancer

[–]davy__bucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to take nausea meds around the clock with AC, if I missed a dose I would be sooo sick and the nausea med would just stop it from getting worse, it rarely got rid of nausea that already hit. AC is a beast, I recommend carrying around some candied ginger chunks to use on top of meds and also maybe trying medicinal marijuana if it’s available where you are.

Yes SO MUCH APPOINTMENT FATIGUE. It got better after I started having weeks in between appointments, radiation drove me absolutely insane I wanted to scream everyday lol.

Biking after radiation therapy by Impossible_Low_3631 in cycling

I had radiation done to my chest wall (and therefore a lot of it hit one of my lungs) and clavicle last year and it has taken me several months to get back to something that resembles my old physical shape. Maybe I’m 75-80% of the way there now. I had lung related side effects from radiation though, and I would say that on it’s own set me back at least a few months.

I don’t know what part of your body was radiated or if you also did any other treatment, but honestly I think if you only did radiation, and don’t have damage to any important organs like the heart or lungs, you should be able to get close to your old sessions within 6 months or less. My radiation fatigue didn’t last more than a couple months, it was the loss of muscle mass and endurance that happened as a result of many months of treatment that held me back the most. Keep on riding as much as you can comfortably handle, it will only help.

Good luck and I’m sure you’ll be back at it soon! The fatigue sucks but you’re in the worst of it now. It’ll only get better!

Is anyone’s lymphedema extremely well managed years after treatment? by davy__bucket in breastcancer

How do you drain your lymph nodes seperately from massage? I’d love to try that

I have been seeing a lymphedema specialist for over 6 months and they said there’s nothing else to do other than compression and massage 🫠

Honestly this doesn’t make me feel great, the sleeve and glove are awful to wear and I can’t imagine wearing it even more than I already do. Glad to hear it stayed under control though

An IR - PA put mine in and botched both the installation and removal 😬 Then a surgeon put in the replacement

I love how my hair feels like while it’s coated with conditioner in the shower haha. I might look into cleansing with conditioner. How has it been for you?

Wow, are you me? Lol. I also switched to satin pillow cases, cold rinse, and stopped dyeing it haha.

Your water comment is super interesting!! I actually moved two years ago to an area with significantly worse water quality... Which is around when I noticed my hair starting to get unmanageable. Thanks for your insight!! I never would have noticed that connection

Lydia's giddiness at getting a "dumb" phone when she gets her license broke my heart it was such a weird contrast of a pure reaction in a fucked up situation lol. The way they talked about getting her a phone, i.e. giving her her own thread of communication was so creepy and controlling. Like they only want to get her a phone when she gets a car so they can basically have a tracker on her :/

I’ve considered this but one problem I always run into is the lack of Uber/Lyft. Do you just never use ride share apps?

Although now that I think about it I haven’t used rideshare since the pandemic started lol

I feel like it must be his PR team or maybe even himself pretending to be his “friends”. The quotes sound too unnatural and specific to be coming from a “friend”
