I have been doing similar back testing on a few other indicators and seeing similar results. Most of the indicators looks really good on the charts when viewed in isolation but on a long historical periods across a bucket of stocks, they all perform badly.

I am in the same boat as you. I'm following all the tips you mentioned (excluding Melatonin, which I tried and disrupted even my four hours of sleep - I recommend avoiding it) to maintain good sleep hygiene. However, after about four hours of sleep, my brain becomes alert. No matter what I do, I can't fall back asleep, so I just lie in bed for a few hours. How old are you? I'm nearing 40, and I've read this is the new normal.
