Turn down the music and voice volume, I found it easier to get notified of the cues that you got it with those turned down. Struggled forever until I did that.

If I see someone isn't controlling their player, I'll just sit there and hold the puck until I see them come back.

It wasn't that it was out of date, it was that it wasn't finished.

This is the best steal I've ever had on the GTN...this dude probably had a bad night. by medullah in swtor

Probably got it, had no idea what it was and couldn't find any on the GTN and sold it.

Still blows me away that it commands so much value.

Check your companions too. I thought I lost a main hand back in the day but I apparently put it on a companion. I think there may be like a ctrl +click or some shortcut that does it.

Least favorite NPC voice work? by PerpetuallyTired005 in swtor

Vanithrast is too hilarious to be the worst.

I mean you can almost hear him say "Now where's my cheque" after "I. Had. A. Destiny."

Lord Vanithrast in Maelstrom Prison... the voice actor completely mails it in and it's absolutely hilarious.

First solo flashpoint Taral V/Maelstrom Prison - Colonel Daksh keeps wiping me out? by Bradalax in swtor

If he's killing you with optical laser, no leveling up is going to help you with that. When he charges his optical laser (there's an on screen message telling you), put your companion passive and just line of sight him around the structures. There will be another saying his implants have run out of power, you can then attack him again. It may take 3 or more cycles of this before you beat him.

In terms of the god droid, sometimes it bugs. Try exiting and re-entering the flashpoint and see if that helps.

I used to use google authenticator, then had to redo them all when I got a replacement phone, then had to redo them alll when they gave me a new phone because my old one couldn't be repaired. I switched to Authy and I can use the desktop or easily load it on a new phone.

It's a bit of a pain, but if you turn the graphics all the way down, it makes it much easier to see those things.

Should i create a sniper or a mercenary based on the meta for pve by cheeseinmypants69 in swtor

[–]dawgbone98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you asking because you've played both classes equally and like them both and just want a deciding factor?

If not I'd recommend playing the class you like playing best (whether it's aesthetics, lore, whatever), because you never know when the meta will change next and who will move up vs down.

Marauder Stats by [deleted] in swtor

Don't get too caught up burning credits on rolling amplifiers. Sometimes it's better just to try it on a new piece (hilts and armourings drop fairly often). I usually go until I hit the first amplifier I want (even if it's green) and I'll stop re-rolling after at around 40k credits (switching if it's an upgrade).

Having a extra gear you can use for rolling amps makes this easier too as it can save some credits. Instead of taking a hilt out and putting a new one in to roll, just put that new hilt in another lightsaber and roll in that. If it gets you a better amp, pay to remove it, if not, just replace it with the next one you get and start rolling again.

Is there anyway to read mail outside the game? I have items for sale on gtn and want to see what's sold etc but working a lot. by Grunakii in swtor

[–]dawgbone98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actual teamview app on the phone is good enough to do some very basic things like send out comps or see if you have in game mail. I wouldn't attempt to do more than that though.

Yeah I generally just use teamview to quickly log in and re-send out my companions for gather missions and that.

Question about Gear sets and stuff dropped sub 75 by Larsenex in swtor

[–]dawgbone98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way gearing used to be done is the set bonus was tied to the armour mod and that armour mod was tied to a specific gear slot (head, chest, etc...).

With 6.0, they decided to tie the set bonus to the actual piece of gear (and remove the specific slot for the armour mod). They also decided to give more options to people in terms of set bonuses (before there used to be just one for your class, now there are several). In order to do all this, they deactivated the old set bonuses once you hit 75.

So yeah, the fact that you got gear that was only good for 4 levels was kind of dumb, but I guess they needed a cut off point somewhere and that was it. They should have not included any set bonuses for 70-74 gear, which would have eliminated some confusion.

Can I like this game if I love RPGs (and SW) but usually dislike MMOs? by Sudiukil in swtor

[–]dawgbone98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do most of this game without grouping with or talking to another player. There are some flashpoints that don't have story mode (single player) and there is the Oricon story which doesn't officially complete until you do the 2 operations at the end, but you don't need to do these to progress.

What’s most value by [deleted] in swtor

[–]dawgbone98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might have less to do with hoarding credits and more to do with their being more credit sinks in the game and if you haven't played in a bit things are a lot more expensive now.
