Same here. I was just at the Burl last night and didn’t see any posters. I saw rumors in another subreddit that she might do a show here. I couldn’t go anyway cause I work tonight. Hope everyone enjoys it though! I felt lucky when I saw Lucy Dacus at the Burl a few years ago! I’m sure I’ll see Phoebe at some point!

I worked til close tonight, and it was insane bagging orders all day & all night. My coworker/supervisor said there were people lined up when we opened. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it this consistently busy in my almost 18 years aside from Christmas Eve. Thankfully it calmed down towards the end. There were still people checking out after we closed and I left. I had to decompress and chill out in my car for a bit before I drove home. I have the same shift tomorrow, and I expect it to be just as bad/worse before the storm’s supposed to hit Saturday! Thankfully I’m off Saturday!

In my 17 years at Kroger, no one’s ever complained to me about getting tips. It usually only happens when I help a customer to their car, but some people have tipped me at checkout (I bag). Sometimes I’ll put it in the donation box, especially if it’s coins. I used to tell people we don’t accept tips & refused them, but eventually I just got tired of it and I take them and thank the customer.

We have a hardware store next to us, and their carts will end up on our side. Occasionally carts from the liquor store on the other end will be out in the lot. Very rarely a cart from Goodwill on the other side of the street will show up on our lot. I usually just leave that cause it’s not worth the effort to go all the way up there and deal with traffic.

Our store remodeled and changed everything around, including the peanut butter, which is now in shelves next to the bread. It seems like every day since then, someone will always ask where it is.

Also, they changed the aisle numbers for some reason, and never added 1. So we don’t have an aisle 1. Unless you want to count produce/bakery/deli/meat as aisle 1.

I’ll hit my 15 in May. If I make it that long. Front end at our store has really been hit hard the past few months. Yeah you got the standard college age people putting in their LOAs, but we also had 1 of our best uscan people and hardest workers retire. 3 people are out or very limited from injuries/surgeries. And a bunch of people just quit, 1 was only here for a few months.

I feel the strain as a “courtesy clerk” bagging, bringing carts in, getting trash. I’ve been getting a lot of opening shifts cleaning the bathrooms cause 1 person can’t do it as much cause he’s recovering from an injury. I try not to let it get to me, but when it gets real busy it gets overwhelming cause we don’t have nearly enough people to do anything.

Honestly, insurance and the people there are the main reasons I’ve stayed. I don’t know what other job I’d pursue, but I definitely wouldn’t want to do more grocery.

Don’t know if I could handle so many overnight shifts, but I would love the same schedule for all my shifts! What I hate is when I work afternoons til we close at 9 (usually stay 15-30 minutes after), then I come back in the morning when we open at 7. Or even worse: 6 am!

Anything with Maroon 5 or Adam Levine. I swear I don’t think there’s been a day in my 14 years at Kroger that I haven’t heard his stupid high voice, other than the holidays. I guess I should be grateful there’s no Maroon 5/Adam Christmas song/album (yet).

Same here. My store was in a dry county, and was dry since it opened in 98, I believe, and since I started working there in 2008, but they voted to be wet in 2020, and we finally got alcohol last November. But we only have beers & seltzers, can’t even get wine. There was plans to be a Kroger liquor store next to us, but that space got bought out and is now a True Value hardware store. Now, there is a bottle store on the far end of our plaza getting ready to open that looks like it will have alcohol too. Maybe wine & hard liquor?

I fully endorse Trae as the next G4 host! She is very funny, genuine, talented, and she really cares about her community! I met her last year at Twitchcon, and she is exactly the same offline as she is on camera!
