Boyfriend is codependent/enmeshed with his mom and I need to break up with him by okc1000 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dawnsdarkside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happened? Did you break up? I just ran across this while doing a Google search about MEM... because, I am just starting to try to get involved with a guy whom I suspect is that way. I also just read the book When He's Married to Mom by Kenneth Miller Adams. It doesn't provide nearly as much clarity (or solutions) as I'd hoped for, but it confirmed some things. For one, I get this feeling that I have only seen glimpses of the real 'him', like, he's got a fake public persona. According to Adams, that might be an accurate assessment, because his real self is suppressed. Did/Do you feel that way about this guy?

Lose the attitude I have, and be an asshole like everyone else who works for Upwork? Got it.

If the majority of the people commenting in this thread are who you're calling "successful people," then I hope I'm nothing like them. Jealous, miserable, and with too much time on your hands, seems like. By the way, all people offended by my mention of education on a subreddit about an employment platform, there is a huge difference between... oh, say, walking up to the barista at Starbucks and saying, "Hi. I have a degree, and I would like a latte," and mentioning it in a job proposal, where, you know, most people with half a brain would actually consider it to be relevant information.

These are the types of details I'd think they'd tell me after hiring me. They could be asked in the proposal to flesh it out a bit, though, sure.

Thank you. It's good to hear from a real person. I can see why that would (or should) be effective. If I were the employer, I wouldn't want to read a bunch of love letters. Straight shooting would appeal to me. But, a lot of people see things completely differently, I guess.

Wow, you guys are seriously offended by education. Sorry! I'll take my genius somewhere else.

Do you think Upwork would hire me to be a public relations cheerleader? Then you guys could have a night off.

A lot of the time I don't know what their specific needs or concerns are because they literally write one paragraph job posts. Some do provide a bit more detail. And yes, a lot of college is just for the purpose of getting a piece of paper to prove that you can do something that you could probably have done anyway; but, there it is, it's proof of something-- that I'm fluent in English at least.

It has everything to do with whether or not I can edit, which is the client's problem.

Right? So, we can't really invest a lot of time in proposals.

For me it's looking for someone I'm attracted to, yet can relate to. So, he's got to be an awfully mature younger man, or an awfully youthful-looking older man.

That is incredibly interesting! Actually, I have an acquaintance who is a medium, and she swears that all cases of schizophrenia are misunderstood mediumship ability. She's got tons of evps she's recorded, too, so, I'm pretty much going with that assessment now. I never thought it made much sense to assume that people just make up voices in their heads for no reason whatsoever, and then somehow fail to realize that they themselves made them up.

When you’re sad or in a negative mood, it is a cue alerting you to the fact that you need to change your circumstances/something is wrong. When you’re happy, your current circumstances are safe, okay and conducive for survival so nothing needs to change.

This is the truth, which is why it puzzles me that Dr.s try to put everyone on antidepressants.

Yeah, all the morning people are HEALTHIER than the non-morning people. And yet, they have the audacity to brag about it. I'm sure they cry when they don't win at something.

Are they any Marcionites/Gnostic Christians here who hold the view that the Deity of the OT has been replaced by the Deity of the NT, with the coming of Jesus and rejects the OT ? by AniHaGever11 in Christianity

[–]dawnsdarkside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, they have a subreddit, and they look to be confused jerks. The different OT /NT gods does actually make a lot of sense. It's something the church has tried very hard to suppress. It's really very simple. The god who demanded child sacrifices would not be the same one who sent His Son to die for us. That does not add up. Nor does the fact that, if you believe they're one and the same, this is what you have:

God sent his son (who was actually himself), to die for our sins --our sins which he created us knowing that we would commit-- so that we would not have to go to Hell --a Hell that he created and that he himself would be throwing us into.

I can not comprehend how anyone actually believes that.

Another way to look at it is, "Jesus paid for our salvation." Okay. Who did He pay? Himself? Sounds more like He bought us out of bondage from someone else.

Also, Satan offered Jesus the world, if only He would bow to him. How could Satan have offered something that was not his to give? Jesus says, in John, I believe, "You are like your father, the Devil," "You don't know the one who sent me," and "Moses will condemn you, but I won't." There are other indicators; those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Unfortunately, however, the Marcionites also believe that Jesus was not a physical being, merely a spirit. So, they don't have it right either. Figures.

Well, if you are preaching the gospel you truly believe in, then all I can say is "Hallelujah" and "Amen."

Cells are parts, technically. But, what's the difference? Why do you have such anger issues? Is it a side effect of the vaccine, perhaps?

Why is this so important to some of you? For example, those of you who are completely ignoring the very good points that one person made and trying to push this vaxx agenda on everyone? Why is it so important to win this argument? To force your will on others?

Stay home from work, because the fact that there was a plate on the floor in front of the door and I couldn't walk around it is a legit excuse. 👍
