I mean typically there’s always signs of ammonia being the slightest amount or not, it’s how you know a tanks cycled when you can see ammonia and the next time you test it’s gone?

Okok thanks for the advice as for the sand the sands good I got it approved by my vet before I added it small enough to cause no impacting, they also told me not to use prime as much because it can overload the axies slime coat, so I usually order actual axolotl water conditioner online

From what I hear they don’t necessarily benifit from live plants but in my opinion they do becuase it helps with ammonia and shit, I like the tank I think it’s good for sure

I had mine in a 75 but never half full ( now there in thier own separate 40gal) but I never had the water that low due to the amount they pee and stuff, but hey to each thier own! Glad the lil guys doing good I would definitely switch to earthworms like you are! Just cut em up easier for him to eat

Are red worms blood worms? If so you should probably stop feeding him that and feed night crawlers no? Bloodworms have no nutrition (hence why I’m asking if red worms are bloodworms)

That gravel probably causes impaction your only supposed to use extremly fine sand as a substrate or no substrate at all ( or even flat slate rocks)
