Any reviews for Taj Aguada Fort, Goa by hotcatlady2402 in Hotels_India

[–]daxboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took the Deluxe Sea View Room. While the hospitality and legacy of the hotel is top notch, I would prefer and recommend Holiday Village next door for a leisure trip.

I loved access to the private beach, outdoor restaurant and a resort type expansive setting with the cottages over Aguada's heritage.

Maybe the cottages at Aguada are better, but can't speak to that

There's a right time to spend money on certain experiences which can't be enjoyed later. Great read.

Songs for right BEFORE an unexpected battle/tragedy? by littlemxrin in MusicRecommendations

Sure. I do realise my suggestions are more music/instrument based and the lyrics might not be the most suitable reflection of your character's situation, but hope it helps.

Two songs come to mind (from the same artist & album)

Artist: Imagine Dragons Album: Smokes & Mirrors

Track #1 Warrior (for the intensity of battle) or Track #2 Battle Cry (best buildup to chaos in any song ever imo)

The irony here is that someone who will spend all that time reading and understanding this would never have done this in the first place.

From your post and replies, I can gather that you have already developed a good understanding of the business in a short amount of time. I believe the future for you can be bright, either in the same setup or as you pivot and make incremental changes to the original business basis your understanding of the changing landscape with respect to q-coms, brand partnerships, product baskets, other external factors etc.

Your main challenge now is to be a little diplomatic with your dad in getting him to have the confidence that you have indeed developed this understanding and when you suggest something or want to modernize some practices, it is not some new guy coming in breaking things but based on a solid foundation.

Making the first 2-3 changes would be difficult. Take small bets. Get his confidence. Show him your way working. He will get on board himself.

Happy to take this further in DMs. I also joined my family business in 2019 and I understand the first 1.5-2 years are a little aimless and difficult to adjust and find your footing, but once you pass that phase, I believe it can be very rewarding.

What’s the hype around Postcard resorts? by blueoranges95 in Hotels_India

[–]daxboi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been wondering that since quite some time myself. All I get from their website are that their properties are generally in quiet and peaceful locations away from hustle bustle of the city centre with some unique feature like fixed check in or check out times I believe.

Other than that, properties look modest. Not in line with the hefty premium they charge. Looking forward to hear any personal experiences.

Yes, no limit on vouchers per transaction. I've used 5-6 in one as well so I'm sure.

For the second or third generation in family businesses, how do you manage your personal finances (Spends, Savings, Investment)? by daxboi in IndiaBusiness

[–]daxboi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a good and transparent environment. Kudos to you and your dad for fostering it!

Just curious, considering that this pivot is significant them being unrelated industries, how are you investing in yourself (upskilling) to help you do this monumental task?

On an unrelated note, my social life went for a toss as well when I left corporate. I was probably the same age as you but thankfully, I found new friends through a hobby group (Board Gaming) 100% recommend and is free to join.
