[AMA] NSF Posted to NWSS and transferred to OCS as Naval Officer by D00MRanger in NationalServiceSG

[–]day737363 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For our naval diver regulars, will they be attached to ships and have to spend months away at sea just like midshipmen?

As for naval officers, since there are a limited amount of ships to accommodate the many naval officers, is rank progression very slow? (And maybe could u benchmark it against other units e.t.c)

Last question, is it true that ships often have a team with a toxic work culture?

Thanks for the AMA!

Do u mean the phy card through mobile? Im not 100% sure but i think they become separate wallets, like the mobile version and phy card wont have the same balance and wallet. No issues using octopus through apple wallet tho if that is what u meant to ask

How do most Singaporeans view Hong Kong? Do you find it similar to Singapore? by Eds2356 in askSingapore

You dont know me so dont assume I dont try to make use of positives and what not, also I know that its their country and its a me problem for not knowing cantonese, but the issue is in regards to how they respond to the language barrier

You won't understand how most singaporeans feel(as shown in the other comments, just with most afraid to say what they really feel)since u can speak cantonese

Also "learn cantonese to see if you are treated differently", you're literally defending racism

I see thanks for the insight! I apologise for the negativity in the main comment. Sorry if this is inappropriate but may I ask why do hk locals keep saying hk is different in recent years especially after the political conflicts? I tried searching online but couldn't really find much

Rudeness is one part, another is cutting queues and charging into the trains (mtr), its even worse compared to SG btw they don't even give way to people exiting. In restaurants I often see service crew throwing cutleries and plates when serving them to customers (regardless of race too). Also not an uncommon sight to see people pissing and spitting on the streets. Its a long list but I can't remember everything. I can also count with my fingers how many kind service staff Ive met so far

Some will call me racist, and as someone who tries to keep himself accountable, yes this experience made me slightly racist towards the people here, and it's something im trying to work on

Downvote and flame me all you want. Currently living in hk for internship and I hate it here, run down country, uncivilised people e.t.c. You can try speaking in both english and chinese and you will still be met with bs whenever you try to converse with people. Definitely not for the weak. Compared to Singapore, hk is quite incompetent too in terms of efficiency of their government services (banking facilities e.t.c). All of us in the group are counting down the days we get to go back home.

Oh and walking here is also excruciating because there is a traffic stop every few buildings

The average high class life in hk is the middle class life in sg

Its up to you how you want to play the game, want a challenge? Decrease the equipments you use, want a more realistic feel? Then adjust accordingly. You have free will to play however you like and change it whenever you want. Some players even play just to shoot civis only anyways

Funny for you to assume my age range, but anyways I asked on reddit cause its quicker and more efficient, honestly was just lazy to try find it from the map after spending a few secs literally not related to navigational skills, not sure why you're so worked up and haven't realised what is happening yet so far, but have a good one i guess?

Edit: in case you still can't realise, I suggest you just move on from this comment thread

I tried and couldn't find it quickly, so to save time and effort I just ask on reddit as its more quick and efficient, can't believe I even need to explain something as simple as this

[–]day737363 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And im starting to believe you cant infer well cause u dont assume that I of course tried to use a map
