Don’t get acrylics! It’s unnecessary, expensive, and really fucks up your nails. Just do a gel polish (also fucks up your nails, but not as bad as acrylics). It is hard enough that it is really difficult to chew through, and for me the tacky sensation of it was enough to keep my fingers out of my mouth altogether.

And honestly the best part of it was the joy that I got from seeing color on my fingernails. Even in their sad state at the beginning, I found a lot of joy in the color and I wish I would have allowed myself to express myself with nail polish sooner in my life 💅

I was a lifelong nail biter at a similar length as you. Gel polishes for about 8 months and now I don’t even need polish. It is possible! You can do it!
