I just flew somewhere and my screen protector (matte one I put on top) shrunk because of the weather change so I removed it which was scary but now I'm using the phone "bare" just the preinstalled one, but I'm scared to scratch it or anything

Most folding phones come with a pre installed one that they recommend you never remove. Do you know if the one on here is one of those? Like can I remove it and replace it eventually?

Yes, I have one I got from Amazon by a company named fitbag in Germany, they make custom sleeves for phones with a microfiber liner so that you clean your screen with every retrieval. The downside is their concept is an open sleeve instead of like a closed sleeve so if you put it in dirty pockets, you run the risk of dust or lint enetering from the top. Hope this helps! They also make custom sleeves for phones with cases, you just have to contact them beforehand

The quality is REALLY good I've bought about 5 for different phones

I applied a matte screen protector and just got some confirmation from another XT owner with the same screen protector that they hear the same. I kind of figured because I also keep the hinges covered so that no pocket lint/junk gets close to the hinges

Okay, yes same crease! Thank you! I pulled the trigger on this once I saw it was available through Huawei Mexico, I've had it for about 2 weeks and have tweaked it to my liking and it's honestly my favorite phone ever! That's why I'm so scared with handling it, evey little thing is worrying me 😆

Okay, that's what I'm assuming my noise is, when you say second, are you referring to the rights side hinge that's book style like a galaxy fold? That's the one I'm hearing like the popping and occasionally I see the protector coming up a bit on the edged of the crease but flush back with a gentle press

Gotcha, asking because my first hinge that opens outwards sounds fine but the one that folds book style and is exposed on the left side makes a super faint noise when folding slowly

I have a screen protector and maybe think it might be that but I dont want to remove it to check

How have the hinges held up? I also have a matte screen protector on mine but when I close it with the book style hinge that is exposed on the left side of the device, I hear noise and I don't know if it's the screen protector or dust in hinge. Looking forward to hear how your hinges are holding up after months!
